Abstract

Skripsi penciptaan ini membahas penerapan teknik crochet sebagai medium ekspresi artistik dalam fesyen melalui eksplorasi simbol bunga mawar dan konsep empat musim. Penelitian menggunakan metode practice-led research dengan mengintegrasikan studi pustaka, observasi, eksperimen bentuk, serta magang dengan praktisi crochet. Hasil penciptaan diwujudkan dalam lima karya, yaitu Winter Rose, Denim Rose Garden, Flourish, Fall, dan Rosewear Four Seasons yang memvisualisasikan karakter dan palet warna setiap musim melalui permainan bentuk, tekstur, dan material pada media denim. Proses penciptaan menunjukkan bahwa teknik crochet mampu memperkaya estetika busana dengan menghadirkan dimensi visual dan tekstural yang khas, serta memperkuat simbolisme bunga mawar dalam konteks seni dan fesyen kontemporer. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi teknik kerajinan tekstil tradisional dengan desain busana modern dapat menghasilkan karya yang inovatif, aplikatif, dan memiliki potensi pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam ranah seni dan industri kreatif. ********* This creative practice thesis examines the application of crochet techniques as an artistic medium in fashion through the exploration of the symbolic qualities of roses and the concept of the four seasons. The study employed a practice-led research method that integrates literature review, observation, form experimentation, and an internship with a crochet practitioner. The creative outputs are manifested in five works—Winter Rose, Denim Rose Garden, Flourish, Fall, and Rosewear Four Seasons—which visualize the characteristics and color palettes of each season through the manipulation of form, texture, and material on denim garments. The creation process demonstrates that crochet techniques can enrich fashion aesthetics by providing distinctive visual and textural dimensions while reinforcing the symbolic expression of roses within contemporary art and fashion contexts. This study concludes that the integration of traditional textile craft techniques with modern fashion design can generate innovative and applicable works that hold further potential for development within the artistic and creative industries.
