Abstract

Rizky Sarva Yudha Yala Putra, 2026. “Pertumbuhan Pasca Trauma Putus Cinta dalam Penciptaan Karya Seni Instalasi”. Skripsi Penciptaan Karya Seni Rupa Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penciptaan karya seni instalasi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan konsep pertumbuhan pasca trauma putus cinta, bawa konsep ini memungkinkan perupa untuk tidak berhenti pada narasi kesedihan, tetapi bergerak menuju pemaknaan baru atas trauma sebagai ruang tumbuh. Melalui simbol visual tangan dan bunga, karya tugas akhir ini merepresentasikan transformasi luka menjadi kekuatan personal. Luka tidak dihapus, tetapi diterima sebagai bagian dari proses pertumbuhan diri perupa pasca peristiwa traumatis. Melalui metode pendekatan kualitatif untuk memahami pengalaman pertumbuhan pasca trauma putus cinta. Data diperoleh melalui pengalaman personal perupa, kegiatan magang bersama seniman, studi pustaka, eksplorasi visual, serta pendapat narasumber ahli. Proses penciptaan mengacu pada tiga aspek utama, yaitu aspek konseptual, visual, dan operasional. Hasil penelitian dan wawancara tersebut kemudian diproses menjadi konsep visual yang diwujudkan dalam karya instalasi. Konsep penciptaan karya didasarkan pada teori Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) yang memandang trauma sebagai peluang terjadinya pertumbuhan psikologis positif. Pertumbuhan pasca trauma putus cinta divisualisasikan melalui bahasa visual dari objek tangan yang memberikan bunga yang diolah menggunakan teknik stensil diatas akrilik dengan memadukan transisi warna dari hitam putih menjadi berwarna. Hasil penciptaan karya ini tidak hanya menghasilkan objek visual, tetapi juga menghadirkan narasi utuh tentang bagaimana pengalaman traumatis pasca putus cinta dapat mendorong pertumbuhan psikologis, kesadaran diri, serta pembentukan makna hidup yang baru melalui praktik seni rupa khususnya seni instalasi. This installation project was created to explore the idea of post-traumatic growth following a romantic breakup. Rather than remaining within a narrative of grief, the work seeks to reinterpret trauma as a space for growth and renewal. Through the visual symbols of a hand and a flower, the final project represents the transformation of emotional wounds into personal strength. The wounds are not erased; instead, they are acknowledged and accepted as part of the artist’s process of self-development after a painful experience. The study applies a qualitative approach to understand the lived experience of growth after heartbreak. The data were drawn from the artist’s personal experience, internship activities with professional artists, literature studies, visual experimentation, and insights from expert informants. The creative process was structured around three main aspects: conceptual, visual, and operational. The findings from research and interviews were then translated into a visual concept realized in an installation artwork. The creation is grounded in the theory of Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG), which views trauma as a potential catalyst for positive psychological development. This growth after heartbreak is expressed visually through the image of a hand offering a flower, executed using stencil techniques on acrylic surfaces, with a gradual transition from black and white to full color. Ultimately, the work does not merely present a visual object, but offers a cohesive narrative about how the experience of heartbreak can encourage psychological growth, deepen self-awareness, and lead to the formation of new meaning in life through the practice of visual art, particularly installation art.
