Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara pola komunikasi keluarga dan efikasi diri peserta didik SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Jatinegara. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 376 peserta didik yang dipilih melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu General Self Efficacy Scale untuk menguji variabel efikasi diri dan Revised Family Communication Pattern Children’s Version untuk menguji variabel pola komunikasi keluarga yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji korelasi dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara pola komunikasi keluarga dimensi orientasi percakapan dan efikasi diri dengan nilai sebesar r = 0,386 dan nilai signifikansi p = 0,000 < 0,05. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara pola komunikasi keluarga dimensi orientasi konformitas dengan efikasi diri dengan nilai r = -0,534 dan nilai signifikansi p = 0,000. Ada pun item pernyataan tertinggi pada hasil asesmen pola komunikasi keluarga adalah dari dimensi orientasi konformitas, yakni “Orang tua saya berkata seperti “Gagasan saya benar, dan kamu tidak seharusnya mempertanyakan itu”. Sedangkan item pernyataan terendah adalah dari dimensi orientasi konformitas, yaitu “Orang tua saya sering mengatakan seperti “Seluruh anggota keluarga harus ikut serta dalam pengambilan keputusan keluarga”. Kemudian, item pernyataan tertinggi pada hasil asesmen efikasi diri adalah “Berkat kemampuan saya, saya tahu bagaimana cara menghadapi situasi yang tidak terduga”. Ada pun item pernyataan terendah yakni “Mudah bagi saya untuk tetap pada tujuan dan mencapai tujuan saya”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, guru BK diharapkan dapat menjadikan pola komunikasi keluarga sebagai salah satu aspek yang diperhatikan dalam proses peningkatan efikasi diri peserta didik. ***** This study aims to determine the relationship between family communication patterns and self-efficacy of junior high school students in Jatinegara District. The sample in this study amounted to 376 students selected through proportional random sampling technique. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The instruments used in this study were the General Self-Efficacy Scale to test the self-efficacy variable and the Revised Family Communication Pattern Children's Version to test the family communication pattern variable whose validity and reliability have been tested. Data were analyzed using a correlation test with the help of SPSS software version 25. The results of the study showed that there was a significant positive relationship between family communication patterns in the conversation orientation dimension and self-efficacy with a value of r = 0.386 and a significance value of p = 0.000 <0.05. In addition, the results of the study also showed that there was a significant negative relationship between family communication patterns in the conformity orientation dimension and self-efficacy with a value of r = -0.534 and a significance value of p = 0.000. The highest statement item in the family communication pattern assessment results is from the conformity orientation dimension, that is "My parents often say things like “My ideas are right and you should not question them". While the lowest statement item is from the conformity orientation dimension, that is, “My parents often say something like, “Every member of the family should have some say in family decision”. Then, the highest statement item in the self-efficacy assessment results is " Thanks to my resourcefulness, I know how to handle unforeseen situations". The lowest statement item is " It is easy for me to stick to my aims and accomplish my goals". Based on the research results, guidance and counseling teachers are expected to consider family communication patterns as one of the aspects they consider in the process of improving student self-efficacy.
