Abstract

Pembelajaran renang merupakan salah satu materi esensial dalam kurikulum Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan gerak, kebugaran jasmani, dan keselamatan diri siswa di air. Meskipun begitu, implementasi di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri se Kecamatan Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur, masih menghadapi berbagai kendala struktural, seperti keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana kolam renang, biaya operasional, serta jarak dan akses menuju lokasi pembelajaran, yang berpotensi mempengaruhi minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat minat siswa kelas X terhadap pembelajaran renang beserta faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhinya pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 91 siswa dari empat SMA Negeri di Kecamatan Jatinegara yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen angket yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran renang berada pada kategori tinggi (32,07%), diikuti kategori sedang (26,37%), kategori rendah (24,18%), serta kategori sangat tinggi dan sangat rendah masing-masing sebesar 7,69%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun minat belajar siswa secara umum tergolong tinggi, faktor eksternal seperti keterbatasan sarana-prasarana dan pembiayaan masih menjadi hambatan signifikan yang perlu mendapat perhatian dari pihak sekolah, dinas pendidikan, dan pemangku kepentingan terkait guna mengoptimalkan kualitas pembelajaran renang di tingkat sekolah menengah atas. ***** Swimming instruction is one of the core components of the Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) curriculum, contributing significantly to students' motor skill development, physical fitness, and water safety competence. However, its implementation in public senior high schools across Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, continues to face structural constraints, including inadequate swimming pool facilities, operational costs, and limited access to suitable venues, all of which may adversely affect students' learning interest. This study aimed to examine the level of tenth-grade students' interest in swimming instruction and to identify the internal and external factors influencing it during the 2025/2026 academic year. A quantitative descriptive design employing a survey method was applied. The sample comprised 91 students drawn from four public senior high schools in Jatinegara District, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive percentage statistics. The findings revealed that students' interest in swimming instruction fell predominantly into the high category (32.07%), followed by the moderate category (26.37%), the low category (24.18%), while the very high and very low categories each accounted for 7.69%. These results suggest that although overall student interest is relatively high, external constraints such as limited facilities and financial barriers remain substantial obstacles that warrant attention from schools, education authorities, and relevant stakeholders to enhance the quality of swimming instruction at the senior high school level.
