Abstract

Perenang pemula, khususnya anak-anak, kerap mengalami aquaphobia atau rasa takut berlebihan terhadap air serta belum menguasai keterampilan water trappen, sementara alat bantu renang yang beredar di pasaran umumnya bersifat statis dengan daya apung tetap sehingga belum mendukung proses adaptasi air secara bertahap (faded guidance). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan rompi adaptasi air berbasis sistem slot bertahap yang layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran water trappen bagi perenang pemula dalam konteks adaptasi air. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), yang dilaksanakan di klub Mumtaz Swimming Cibubur, Jakarta Timur pada bulan Mei–Juli 2026, menghasilkan produk dengan sistem slot EVA Foam bertingkat yang memungkinkan pengaturan daya apung secara progresif serta dilengkapi buckle strap dan double crotch strap sebagai fitur keamanan. Validasi kelayakan produk dilakukan oleh empat ahli, ahli renang, praktisi renang dan ahli sarana dan prasarana sedangkan uji coba produk melibatkan wawancara terhadap orang tua/wali 15 perenang pemula. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh indikator kelayakan produk dinilai "Layak/Valid" oleh para ahli, mencakup aspek desain, kesesuaian materi pembelajaran, keamanan penggunaan, daya apung progresif, serta kesesuaian sistem slot dengan prinsip faded guidance, sementara hasil wawancara orang tua menunjukkan penerimaan yang sangat positif terhadap efektivitas, kemudahan penggunaan, keandalan fungsi, fitur pendukung, serta keamanan dan kenyamanan produk. Kata Kunci: Rompi Adaptasi Air, Water Trappen, Perenang Pemula, ADDIE, Adaptasi Air ***** Beginner swimmers, particularly children, often experience aquaphobia, or an excessive fear of water, and have not yet mastered water treading skills. Meanwhile, swimming aids available on the market are generally static and provide constant buoyancy, which does not adequately support a gradual water adaptation process through faded guidance. This study aimed to develop a water adaptation vest based on a progressive slot system that is suitable for use as a learning medium for water treading among beginner swimmers in the context of water adaptation. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), conducted at Mumtaz Swimming Club, Cibubur, East Jakarta, from May to July 2026. The resulting product features a tiered EVA foam slot system that allows buoyancy to be adjusted progressively and is equipped with buckle straps and double crotch straps as safety features. Product feasibility was validated by four experts, including swimming experts, swimming practitioners, and sports facilities and infrastructure experts, while product trials involved interviews with the parents or guardians of 15 beginner swimmers. The results showed that all product feasibility indicators were assessed as "Feasible/Valid" by the experts, covering aspects of design, suitability of learning materials, safety of use, progressive buoyancy, and the suitability of the slot system with the principle of faded guidance. Meanwhile, the results of interviews with parents indicated highly positive acceptance of the product in terms of effectiveness, ease of use, functional reliability, supporting features, as well as product safety and comfort.
