Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan metode Gallery Walk dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di SMPN 20 Jakarta dengan subjek penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas VIII-I yang berjumlah 36 orang, yang terdiri dari 16 laki-laki dan 20 perempuan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dengan dua siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Gallery Walk dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keaktifan peserta didik kelas VIII-I. Pada siklus 1, presentase ketuntasan peserta didik sebesar 75% dengan nilai rata-rata 85 dan pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 83% dengan rata-rata 90. Keaktifan peserta didik juga menunjukkan peningkatan dari aspek bertanya, menjawab, berpendapat, dan kerjasama. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode Gallery Walk efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-I. ***** Fuji Ochtaulia, The Implementation of the Gallery Walk Method in Improving Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Grade VIII Students at SMPN 20 Jakarta. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Gallery Walk method in improving students’ learning outcomes in the Social Studies (IPS) subject at SMPN 20 Jakarta, with the research subjects being 36 students of class VIII-I, consisting of 16 males and 20 females. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles with each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Gallery Walk method could improve the learning outcomes and participation of class VIII-I students. In Cycle 1, the percentage of students’ learning mastery was 75% with an average score of 85, and in Cycle 2 it increased to 83% with an average score of 90. Students’ participation also showed improvement in the aspects of asking questions, answering questions, expressing opinions, and coortperation. This indicates that learning through the Gallery Walk method is effective in improving the quality of Social Studies learning in class VIII-I.
