Abstract
***** This study aimed to determine whether there is an influence of self-compassion on academic burnout among working students. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a convenience sampling technique. The participants in this study consisted of 408 working students. The instruments used were the Maslach Burnout Inventory–Student Survey (MBI-SS) developed by Schaufeli et al. (2002) and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) developed by Neff (2003). Hypothesis testing was conducted through simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that self-compassion had a significant negative influence on academic burnout, with a contribution of 27,5% among working students. These findings showed that as self-compassion increases, academic burnout decreases among working university students. Conversely, as self-compassion decreases, academic burnout increases among working university students.
