Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pola asuh otoriter ayah terhadap hubungan positif pada mahasiswa. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif. Subek penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling dan didapatkan 230 mahasiswa aktif berusia 18-25 tahun yang memiliki pengalaman diasuh oleh ayah secara otoriter. Pengukuran kemampuan membangun hubungan positif diukur dengan instrumen PRIM+19, sedangkan pola asuh otoriter ayah diukur dengan Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ). Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linear sederhana, menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh otoriter ayah berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap hubungan positif pada mahasiswa (β = -0,132; p = 0,046) dengan kontribusi sebesar 1,7% (R² = 0,017. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi pola asuh otoriter ayah, maka semakin rendah hubungan positif yang dimiliki mahasiswa. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of a father’s authoritarian parenting style on positive relationships among college students. A quantitative research approach was used. Research participants were recruited using convenience sampling, resulting in a sample of 230 active college students aged 18–25 who had experienced authoritarian parenting from their fathers. The ability to build positive relationships was measured using the PRIM+19 instrument, while the father’s authoritarian parenting style was measured using the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ). Based on the results of a simple linear regression test, it was found that a father’s authoritarian parenting style has a significant negative effect on positive relationships among college students (β= -0.132; p= 0.046), contributing 1.7% (R² = 0.017). Thus, the more authoritarian a father’s parenting style is, the weaker the positive relationships among college students.
