Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan framing pemberitaan gerakan #IndonesiaGelap pada Tempo.co menggunakan model framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki serta menganalisis peran struktur sintaksis berdasarkan teori Abdul Chaer dalam memperkuat framing tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan paradigma interpretatif. Data penelitian berupa lima artikel berita Tempo.co mengenai gerakan #IndonesiaGelap periode Februari–Maret 2025 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan empat struktur framing Pan dan Kosicki, yaitu sintaksis, skrip, tematik, dan retoris, kemudian diperdalam melalui analisis sintaksis Abdul Chaer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tempo.co membingkai gerakan #IndonesiaGelap sebagai bentuk kritik sosial terhadap kebijakan pemerintah. Framing tersebut diperkuat melalui teori sintaksis Abdul Chaer yang meliputi fungsi sintaksis, pola sintaksis, penggunaan kalimat aktif pasif, penggunaan kalimat deklaratif, interogatif dan imperatif, serta hubungan antarklausa yang mendukung konstruksi makna dalam pemberitaan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan kajian framing media dan linguistik media. **** This study aims to describe the framing of the #IndonesiaGelap movement's coverage on Tempo.co using the framing model proposed by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, and to analyze the role of syntactic structures—based on Abdul Chaer's theory—in reinforcing that framing. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach within an interpretive paradigm. The data consists of five Tempo.co news articles regarding the #IndonesiaGelap movement from February to March 2025, selected via purposive sampling. Analysis was conducted based on Pan and Kosicki’s four framing structures—syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical—and further deepened through Abdul Chaer’s syntactic analysis. The results indicate that Tempo.co frames the #IndonesiaGelap movement as a form of social criticism directed at government policies. This framing is reinforced through Abdul Chaer’s syntactic theory, encompassing syntactic functions, syntactic patterns, the use of active and passive voices, the use of declarative, interrogative, and imperative sentences, and inter-clausal relationships that support the construction of meaning in the news coverage. This study is expected to contribute to the development of research in media framing and media linguistics.
