Abstract
***** The high unemployment rate among university graduates in Indonesia (1.01 million people or 13.9% of total unemployment in February 2025, BPS) indicates a gap between graduate competencies and the demands of the labor market. Internship programs are seen as a strategy to bridge this gap, yet their effectiveness is determined not only by participation but also by how students perceive the value of the internship (Perceived Value of Internship) and their level of self-belief (Self-Efficacy). Research integrating these two factors in the context of Indonesian students remains limited. This study aims to analyze the influence of Perceived Value of Internship and Self-Efficacy on Employability Skills of students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FEB UNJ), both partially and simultaneously. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population consisted of 330 students from the educational study programs in FEB UNJ, class of 2022. A sample of 181 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula (e=5%) with purposive sampling. The instrument was a 6-point Likert scale questionnaire adapted from Shaheen et al. (2022) for Perceived Value of Internship (18 items) and Employability Skills (20 items), and from Tsai et al. (2024) for Self-Efficacy (9 items). Validity was tested using Pearson correlation (r table = 0.138), and reliability using Cronbach's Alpha (α = 0.937). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality using Monte Carlo correction, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. Perceived value of internship has a positive effect on students' employability skills. This means that the more students perceive their internship as beneficial, challenging, and well-supervised, the higher their work skills. Self-efficacy also has a positive effect on employability skills. Students who are self-confident tend to be more prepared and skilled in facing the world of work. Together, these two factors explain 66.6% of the variation in students' employability skills. The remaining 33.4% is influenced by other factors such as work motivation, peer or family support, or organizational experience. Perceived Value of Internship and Self-Efficacy partially and simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Employability Skills of FEB Universitas Negeri Jakarta students. Perceived Value of Internship contributes more dominantly compared to Self-Efficacy. The practical implication of this research is the need to improve the quality of internship programs (task clarity, challenging tasks, effective supervision) as well as to strengthen students' self-efficacy through training, career counseling, and peer mentoring within the university environment.
