Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan memasak peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual di SLB C Asih Budi. Peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali alat dan bahan, memahami urutan langkah memasak, serta melaksanakan proses memasak secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik, yaitu melalui penerapan metode drill dengan media gambar berseri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara meningkatkan keterampilan memasak peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual melalui metode drill dengan media gambar berseri, serta mengetahui efektivitas metode tersebut dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memasak. Penelitian menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes praktik, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan memasak peserta didik dapat ditingkatkan melalui latihan yang dilakukan secara berulang, bertahap, dan sistematis menggunakan metode drill yang dipadukan dengan media gambar berseri. Media gambar berseri membantu peserta didik memahami urutan langkah memasak secara konkret, sedangkan metode drill memperkuat penguasaan keterampilan melalui latihan berulang hingga peserta didik mampu melakukan setiap tahapan memasak dengan lebih tepat dan mandiri. Penerapan metode drill dengan media gambar berseri terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterampilan memasak peserta didik, yang terlihat dari meningkatnya kemampuan mengenali alat dan bahan, mengikuti prosedur memasak, menggunakan peralatan dengan benar, serta menyelesaikan kegiatan memasak secara lebih mandiri pada setiap siklus penelitian. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode drill dengan media gambar berseri efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memasak peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual dan dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional di sekolah luar biasa. ***** This study was motivated by the low level of cooking skills among students with intellectual disabilities at SLB C Asih Budi. These students faced difficulties in identifying tools and ingredients, understanding the equence of cooking steps, and carrying out the cooking process independently. Therefore, an instructional strategy tailored to the students' characteristics was required: the application of the drill method using sequential image media. This study aimed to determine how to improve the cooking skills of students with intellectual disabilities using the drill method with sequential image media and to assess the effectiveness of this method in enhancing those skills. The study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle comprised the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included observation, practical tests, documentation, and field notes. Data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods.The results indicate that students' cooking skills can be improved through repetitive, gradual, and systematic practice using the drill method combined with sequential image media. Sequential image media helped students concretely understand the sequence of cooking steps, while the drill method reinforced skill mastery through repetition until students were able to perform each cooking stage more accurately and independently. The application of the drill method with sequential image media proved effective in improving students' cooking skills, as evidenced by their increased ability to identify tools and ingredients, follow cooking procedures, use equipment correctly, and complete cooking activities with greater independence across the research cycles.Thus, it can be concluded that the drill method using sequential image media is effective for improving the cooking skills of students with intellectual disabilities and can serve as an alternative approach for vocational skills instruction in special schools.
