Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi proses perkembangan alienasi dan mekanisme pelarian diri dari tokoh utama dalam novel Di Tanah Lada karya Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah kualitatif deskriptif berlandaskan psikologi sastra psikoanalisis Erich Fromm dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi literatur dan teknik baca, simak, dan catat. Penelitian ini juga didukung perspektif identitas sosial Tajfel-Turner untuk membuktikan adanya gangguan identitas saat terjadinya alienasi. Fokus utama dari penelitian ini meliputi proses perkembangan alienasi yang terdiri atas faktor, bentuk, dampak alienasi, serta mekanisme pelarian diri. Hasil analisis dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan: (1) faktor alienasi disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal dan faktor internal; (2) bentuk alienasi tersebut di antaranya alienasi terhadap alam, alienasi terhadap masyarakat, alienasi terhadap sesama manusia, dan alienasi terhadap diri sendiri; (3) dampak alienasi berupa dampak fisik dan dampak psikis; (4) mekanisme pelarian diri berupa otoritarianisme, ketundukan otomat, dan destruktif; serta dinamika identitas sosial yang berupa (5) gangguan identitas. Adanya proses perkembangan alienasi, mekanisme pelarian diri, dan gangguan identitas yang dialami tokoh utama telah menunjukkan bahwasanya tokoh utama melalui permasalahan psikologis yang dipengaruhi oleh kehidupan sosialnya. Hal ini pun memengaruhi pula caranya berperilaku dan menentukan pilihan untuk menyelesaikan masalah keterasingan. ***** This study aims to identify the process of alienation and the mechanisms of escapism from the protagonist in the novel Di Tanah Lada by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, grounded in Erich Fromm’s psychoanalytic literary psychology, utilising data collection techniques such as literature review and the ‘read, listen and note’ method. This study is also supported by the Tajfel–Turner perspective on social identity to demonstrate the presence of identity disruption during the occurrence of alienation. The main focus of this study encompasses the developmental process of alienation, comprising its factors, forms, impacts, and mechanisms of self-escape. The results of this study reveal that: (1) the factors causing alienation are both external and internal; (2) the forms of alienation include alienation from nature, alienation from society, alienation from fellow human beings, and alienation from the self; (3) the effects of alienation take the form of physical and psychological impacts; (4) mechanisms of self-escape include authoritarianism, automatic submission and destructiveness; and the dynamics of social identity take the form of (5) identity disturbance. The presence of the development of alienation, mechanisms of self-escape, and identity disorders which get experienced by the protagonist demonstrates that the protagonist is undergoing psychological issues influenced by her social life. This influences the way she behaves and the choices she makes to resolve her alienation issue.
