Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berhitung pengurangan bersusun pada siswa kelas II. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung pengurangan bersusun melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IIB di SDN Duren Sawit 02 Pagi yang berjumlah 32 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemampuan berhitung dan lembar observasi aktivitas pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berhitung siswa pada setiap siklus. Persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 53,13% dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 84,38%. Persentase hasil pemantau aktivitas guru pada siklus I dan II diperoleh sebesar 73,75% dan 88,75%, sedangkan persentase aktivitas siswa pada siklus I dan II diperoleh sebesar 68,13% dan 83,13%. Dengan demikian, penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung pengurangan bersusun pada siswa kelas IIB. ***** This study was undertaken in response to the low ability of second-grade elementary school students to perform multi-digit subtraction. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ multi-digit subtraction skills through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 32 second-grade students. Data were collected through arithmetic tests and observation sheets of learning activities, and were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results of the study indicated an improvement in students' numeracy skills in each cycle. The percentage of student learning completeness in Cycle I was 53.13% and increased to 84.38% in Cycle II. The percentage of teacher activity monitoring in Cycles I and II was 73.75% and 88.75%, respectively, while the percentage of student activity in Cycles I and II was 68.13% and 83.13%. Therefore, the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model was able to enhance students’ multi-digit subtraction skills in the second grade of elementary school.
