Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas konflik batin tokoh Ishida Shouya dalam anime Koe no Katachi karya Naoko Yamada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penokohan Ishida Shouya, bentuk konflik batin berdasarkan teori konflik Saludin Muis, serta upaya penyelesaian konflik batin berdasarkan teori mekanisme pertahanan diri Sigmund Freud. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Data penelitian berjumlah 40 data yang terdiri atas 8 data gambar, 7 data monolog, dan 25 data dialog yang dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan catat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa: (1) Penokohan Ishida Shouya mengalami perubahan dari sosok yang agresif dan sering melakukan bullying terhadap Nishimiya Shouko, menjadi pribadi yang dipenuhi rasa bersalah, kemudian berkembang menjadi pribadi yang asosial, rendah diri, dan bertanggung jawab; (2) Bentuk konflik batin yang dialami meliputi depresi, cemas, rasa takut, rasa tidak aman, rasa bersalah, perasaan tidak mampu, dan frustrasi, dengan rasa bersalah sebagai konflik yang paling dominan; dan (3) Upaya penyelesaian konflik batin dilakukan melalui mekanisme pertahanan diri berupa represi, sublimasi, proyeksi, dan penyangkalan, dengan sublimasi sebagai mekanisme yang paling dominan. ***** This study discusses the inner conflict of Ishida Shouya, a character in the anime Koe no Katachi directed by Naoko Yamada. This study aims to examine the characterization of Ishida Shouya, the forms of inner conflict based on Saludin Muis’ theory of conflict, and the efforts to resolve inner conflict based on Sigmund Freud’s theory of defense mechanisms. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. The research data consisted of 40 data points, comprising 8 visual data, 7 monologues, and 25 dialogues, which were collected through observation and note-taking techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was found that: (1) Ishida Shouya’s characterization develops from an aggressive individual who frequently bullied Nishimiya Shouko into a person overwhelmed by guilt, and eventually into an asocial, insecure, and responsible individual; (2) The forms of inner conflict experienced by Ishida Shouya include depression, anxiety, fear, insecurity, guilt, feelings of inadequacy, and frustration, with guilt being the most dominant form of internal conflict; and (3) Ishida Shouya resolves his inner conflicts through the defense mechanisms of repression, sublimation, projection, and denial, with sublimation being the most dominant defense mechanism.
