Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model Cooperative Learning tipe Think-Talk-Write (TTW) terhadap keterampilan komunikasi lisan pada pembelajaran IPS siswa kelas IV SD di Kecamatan Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur. Rendahnya keterampilan komunikasi lisan siswa disebabkan oleh dominasi metode ceramah yang membuat siswa cenderung pasif dan kurang percaya diri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel dipilih melalui Cluster Random Sampling, menghasilkan 62 siswa SDN Cipinang Muara 04 yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen (TTW) dan kelas kontrol (metode diskusi konvensional), masing masing 31 siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi rating scale dengan lima indikator: penguasaan pengetahuan, kejelasan pengucapan, pengelolaan suara, gestur dan ekspresi, serta sikap dan mental. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, Independent Samples t-Test, dan NGain. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen (34,32) lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol (32,71) dengan nilai signifikansi 0,017 < 0,05. N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 60,62% lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol 46,62%. Disimpulkan bahwa model TTW berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan komunikasi lisan siswa pada pembelajaran IPS **** This study aims to examine the effect of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) Cooperative Learning model on students' oral communication skills in Social Studies (IPS) learning among Grade IV elementary school students in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta. The study was motivated by students' low oral communication skills, resulting from lecture-dominated, teacher-centered instruction that renders students passive and unconfident. A quantitative experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design was employed. Samples were selected through Cluster Random Sampling, yielding 62 students from SDN Cipinang Muara 04 divided into an experimental class (TTW) and a control class (conventional discussion method), 31 students each. Data were collected using an observation sheet with five indicators: knowledge mastery, clarity of articulation, voice management, gestures and expressions, and attitude and mental readiness. Analysis included normality, homogeneity, Independent Samples t-Test, and N-Gain tests. Results showed the experimental class posttest mean (34.32) exceeded the control class (32.71), with a significance value of 0.017 < 0.05. The experimental class NGain (60.62%) was higher than the control class (46.62%). It is concluded that the TTW model has a significant positive effect on students' oral communication skills in Social Studies learning
