Abstract
***** This study aims to evaluate the quality of products developed through the utilization of accumulated unused garments, particularly second-hand denim jackets, in the production of upcycled denim jackets. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using a pre-experimental research design in the form of a oneshot case study. The study produced five ready-to-wear upcycled denim jacket designs featuring coral reef motifs as the main design theme, applied using embroidery appliqué techniques. The products were evaluated using a rating scale assessment.Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of 23 assessment items measured using a rating scale and completed by five expert panelists according to their respective fields of expertise. The product evaluation was based on the product differentiation theory proposed by Kotler and Keller (2016) and the design principles proposed by Wolfe (2011).The results indicate that the overall product quality falls within the excellent category. Based on the product quality dimensions, the Reliability sub-indicator achieved the highest score of 99%, categorized as excellent. Based on the design principles, the Unity sub-indicator obtained a score of 94%, also categorized as excellent. Among the five designs, Design 5 received the highest overall score of 95%, while Design 2 received the lowest score of 90%. Nevertheless, all five designs were classified as excellent.
