Abstract

***** This study aimed to analyze the effect of students' discipline on science learning outcomes among fourth-grade elementary school students in Tebet District. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 100 students. Data on students' discipline were collected through questionnaires completed by the homeroom teachers, while science learning outcomes were obtained from the students' first-semester report card grades. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, Pearson Product Moment correlation, and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that students' discipline had a positive and significant effect on science learning outcomes, with a correlation coefficient of 0.789 (strong category) and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The simple linear regression analysis produced the regression equation Ŷ = a + bX, indicating that an increase in students' discipline was followed by an improvement in science learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination of 62.3% indicates that students' discipline contributed 62.3% to science learning outcomes, while the remaining 37.7% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings confirm that students' discipline is an important factor in improving science learning outcomes at the elementary school level.
