Abstract

Musik tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai ruang untuk mengekspresikan kritik sosial terhadap fenomena yang terjadi di masyarakat. Dalam proses penciptaannya, musisi merefleksikan ideologi dan pemikiran pribadi yang menjembatani pesan teks dengan realitas sosial yang berkembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis wacana eskapisme dalam lagu Ano Yo Iki no Basu ni Notte Saraba karya TUYU dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) model Teun A. van Dijk. Pendekatan ini membedah tiga dimensi utama, yaitu struktur teks, kognisi sosial pencipta, dan konteks sosial. Hasil penelitian pada dimensi teks menunjukkan bahwa TUYU membangun perlawanan eksistensial yang konfrontatif melalui diksi lugas, leksikon kekerasan, pertanyaan retoris yang sarkastis, serta proses nominalisasi sintaksis yang mereduksi nilai-nilai kehidupan normatif, seperti "garis kehidupan" dan "teori kebahagiaan", menjadi objek yang tidak lagi bermakna. Pada dimensi kognisi sosial, lirik lagu ini merepresentasikan pengalaman pribadi TUYU selaku pencipta lagu terkait trauma masa kecil, rasa bersalah, pengalaman perundungan, serta penolakan terhadap bentuk empati yang dianggap semu. Selain itu, ditemukan pula penguatan kognisi sosial melalui komentar penggemar pada kanal YouTube resmi TUYU yang menunjukkan bahwa lagu ini turut berfungsi sebagai sumber dukungan psikologis nyata, bahkan menjadi salah satu alasan sebagian pendengar untuk tetap bertahan hidup. Pada dimensi konteks sosial, wacana dalam lagu ini merefleksikan relasi kuasa yang timpang antara tuntutan struktural masyarakat Jepang modern dan ketahanan mental generasi muda, serta fenomena perundungan (ijime) yang luput dari penanganan serius sehingga menimbulkan trauma berkepanjangan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa lagu Ano Yo Iki no Basu ni Notte Saraba bukan sekadar karya estetis, melainkan representasi alienasi radikal generasi muda modern, sekaligus ruang validasi psikologis bagi pendengar yang mengalami pergulatan serupa. ***** Music does not merely function as a medium of entertainment, but also as a space for expressing social criticism of phenomena occurring in society. In the creative process, musicians reflect ideologies and personal thoughts that bridge textual messages with evolving social realities. This study aims to analyze the discourse of escapism in the song Ano Yo Iki no Basu ni Notte Saraba by TUYU using Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach. This approach examines three main dimensions: text structure, the creator's social cognition, and social context. The findings at the textual dimension show that TUYU constructs a confrontational existential resistance through straightforward diction, violent lexicon, sarcastic rhetorical questions, and syntactic nominalization that reduces normative life values such as the "life line" and the "theory of happiness" into meaningless objects. At the social cognition dimension, the lyrics represent TUYU's personal experience as the song's creator, relating to childhood trauma, guilt, experiences of bullying, and rejection of forms of empathy perceived as insincere. In addition, this study also found a reinforcement of social cognition through fan comments on TUYU's official YouTube channel, which show that the song also functions as a genuine source of psychological support, even becoming one reason some listeners continue to stay alive. At the social context dimension, the discourse in this song reflects an unequal power relation between the structural demands of modern Japanese society and the mental resilience of the younger generation, as well as the phenomenon of bullying (ijime) that goes unaddressed seriously, resulting in prolonged trauma. This study concludes that the song Ano Yo Iki no Basu ni Notte Saraba is not merely an aesthetic work, but a representation of the radical alienation of the modern younger generation, as well as a space of psychological validation for listeners experiencing similar struggles.
