Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fitur bahasa perempuan dalam tuturan podcaster perempuan pada Podcast Moms Corner yang dipandu oleh Nikita Willy berdasarkan teori fitur bahasa perempuan Robin Lakoff (1975). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Sumber data berupa tuturan lisan Nikita Willy yang diperoleh dari 10 episode Podcast Moms Corner di YouTube, dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dari total 106 episode. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak bebas libat cakap, teknik catat, dokumentasi, dan transkripsi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif yang meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dengan triangulasi metode untuk menjamin keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tuturan Nikita Willy merepresentasikan sepuluh fitur bahasa perempuan menurut Lakoff, yaitu lexical hedges, tag question, rising intonation on declaratives, empty adjectives, precise color terms, intensifiers, hypercorrect grammar, superpolite forms, avoidance of strong swear words, dan emphatic stress. Penggunaan fitur-fitur tersebut mencerminkan kecenderungan penutur dalam membangun kesantunan, empati, kedekatan interpersonal, serta identitas perempuan dalam komunikasi digital. Temuan penelitian memperkuat relevansi teori Lakoff dalam konteks media podcast sekaligus memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan kajian sosiolinguistik, khususnya bahasa dan gender di media digital. Kata Kunci: Bahasa Perempuan, Fitur Bahasa Perempuan, Podcast, Robin Lakoff, Sosiolinguistik. ***** This study aims to describe female language features in the speech of the female host of the Moms Corner podcast, Nikita Willy, based on Robin Lakoff’s (1975) theory of female language features. The study employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. The data source consists of Nikita Willy’s spoken utterances obtained from 10 episodes of the Moms Corner podcast on YouTube, selected via purposive sampling from a total of 106 episodes. Data were collected through non-participatory observation, note-taking, documentation, and transcription, and subsequently analyzed using an interactive analysis model—comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing—alongside method triangulation to ensure data validity. The results indicate that Nikita Willy’s speech exhibits the ten female language features identified by Lakoff: lexical hedges, tag questions, rising intonation on declaratives, empty adjectives, precise color terms, intensifiers, hypercorrect grammar, superpolite forms, avoidance of strong swear words, and emphatic stress. The use of these features reflects the speaker's tendency to establish politeness, empathy, interpersonal closeness, and a female identity within digital communication. These findings reinforce the relevance of Lakoff’s theory in the context of podcast media and contribute to the development of sociolinguistic studies, particularly regarding language and gender in digital media.
