Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan bentuk tekanan emosional dan psikologis akibat tingginya ekspektasi keluarga terhadap anak bungsu dalam penciptaan karya seni instalasi. Ekspektasi yang hadir sejak masa kecil membentuk beban batin, rasa tanggung jawab, serta dorongan untuk memenuhi harapan keluarga sebagai anak terakhir dari sembilan bersaudara. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan riset praktisi (Practice Research) yang berbasis pengalaman personal perupa dan bersifat reflektif. Proses pengkaryaan diawali dengan kegiatan magang bersama narasumber Oceu Apristawijaya pada bulan Oktober 2025 hingga November 2025 di Villa Merah Jakarta dan Studio “Sembunyi” Bogor. Karya seni instalasi ini secara efektif menyampaikan pesan mengenai tekanan, harapan, serta pergulatan emosional anak bungsu yang sering kali sulit diungkapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari berdasarkan hasil riset dan eksplorasi visual yang telah dilakukan. Visualisasi ekspektasi keluarga diwujudkan melalui pendekatan aliran surealisme dan bentuk semi figuratif dengan menghadirkan simbol-simbol seperti jamur, pohon, dan hutan sebagai representasi keluarga besar, tekanan, serta relasi emosional dalam lingkungan keluarga. Perupa menggunakan medium utama cat akrilik yang dipadukan dengan berbagai material instalasi seperti clay, bunga sintetis, daun buatan, tekstur alami, dan elemen tiga dimensi lainnya di atas kanvas. Teknik yang digunakan meliputi layering, impasto, kolase, serta eksplorasi tekstur untuk memperkuat suasana emosional dan kedalaman visual karya. Dalam karya ini, penggambaran objek tetap mempertahankan unsur figuratif, namun mengalami deformasi dan stilasi untuk menegaskan nuansa surealis serta memperkuat simbolisasi pengalaman batin perupa sebagai anak bungsu. ***** This study aims to visualize the emotional and psychological pressure caused by high family expectations on the youngest child through the creation of installation art. Expectations present since childhood create inner burdens, a sense of responsibility, and the drive to meet the family's hopes as the last child among nine siblings. The research method uses a qualitative approach and practice-based research that is based on the personal experiences of the artist and is reflective. The creation process started with an internship with Oceu Apristawijaya from October to November 2025 at Villa Merah Jakarta and the “Sembunyi” Studio in Bogor. This installation artwork effectively conveys messages about the pressures, hopes, and emotional struggles of the youngest child, which are often hard to express in daily life, based on research and visual exploration that has been done. The visualization of family expectations is expressed through a surrealist approach and semi-figurative forms, featuring symbols like mushrooms, trees, and forests to represent the extended family, pressures, and emotional relationships within the family environment. The artist uses acrylic paint as the main medium, combined with various installation materials like clay, artificial flowers, fake leaves, natural textures, and other three-dimensional elements on the canvas. The techniques used include layering, impasto, collage, and texture exploration to enhance the emotional atmosphere and visual depth of the work. In this piece, the depiction of objects still maintains figurative elements, but they undergo deformation and stylization to emphasize a surreal vibe and strengthen the symbolism of the artist’s inner experiences as the youngest child.
