Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Perkembangan Tari Geboy Menjadi Tari Geboy Kembang Kilaras di Sanggar Citra Budaya Bogor serta mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur tradisi yang tetap dipertahankan dalam proses perkembangannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan pencipta tari, komposer musik, akademisi tari, serta penari yang terlibat dalam proses penciptaan dan penyajian karya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Geboy Kembang Kilaras merupakan bentuk pengembangan dari Tari Geboy Kerakyatan yang lahir melalui proses kreatif di Sanggar Citra Budaya Bogor pada tahun 2018. Perkembangan bentuk tari terlihat pada aspek gerak, musik, pola ruang, dinamika, penciptaan, perlengkapan pertunjukan, serta koreografi kelompok. Pengembangan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh kebutuhan penciptaan karya yang lebih sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman dan media pertunjukan modern. Meskipun mengalami berbagai perubahan, Tari Geboy Kembang Kilaras tetap mempertahankan ciri utama Tari Geboy, yaitu karakter gerak pinggul, dominasi kendang dalam iringan musik, serta nuansa tari rakyat Sunda yang menjadi identitas dasarnya. Berdasarkan teori Dance Composition La Meri, perubahan yang terjadi menunjukkan adanya perkembangan bentuk yang bersifat adaptif tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai tradisional yang menjadi landasan penciptaannya. Oleh karena itu, Tari Geboy Kembang Kilaras dapat dipahami sebagai wujud inovasi seni tari berbasis tradisi yang mampu menjaga keberlanjutan budaya sekaligus menyesuaikan diri dengan kebutuhan masyarakat masa kini. Kata Kunci: Perkembangan Tari, Geboy, Tari Geboy Kembang Kilaras, Sanggar Citra Budaya, Koreografi. ***** This study aims to describe the development of Geboy Dance into Geboy Kembang Kilaras Dance at Citra Budaya Studio, Bogor, and to identify the traditional elements that have been maintained throughout its transformation process. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the choreographer, music composer, dance academics, and dancers who participated in the creation and performance process. The findings reveal that Geboy Kembang Kilaras Dance is a developed form of traditional Geboy Dance created through a creative process at Citra Budaya Studio in 2018. The transformation can be observed in movement vocabulary, musical composition, spatial design, dynamics, performance properties, and group choreography. These developments were influenced by the need to create a performance that is more relevant to contemporary artistic and digital performance contexts. Despite these changes, Geboy Kembang Kilaras Dance continues to preserve the essential characteristics of Geboy Dance, including hip-oriented movements, the dominance of traditional drum accompaniment, and the spirit of Sundanese folk dance traditions. Based on La Meri's Dance Composition theory, the transformation reflects an adaptive development process that maintains traditional values while introducing artistic innovations. Therefore, Geboy Kembang Kilaras Dance can be understood as a tradition-based creative work that contributes to cultural preservation while remaining relevant to contemporary society.
