Abstract

***** The increasingly urgent global climate crisis demands the readiness of the younger generation as agents of change, where their cognitive role is closely tied to Climate Change Literacy. This study aims to determine the level of Climate Change Literacy among high school students, their Environmental Care Attitude, and the relationship between Climate Change Literacy and the Environmental Care Attitude of 11th-grade high school students. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with a correlational study. The research sample consisted of 104 grade students from SMA Negeri 4 Kota Bekasi, selected using a simple random sampling technique based on the Slovin formula calculation. Data collection was conducted using instruments in the form of a multiple-choice test to measure the Climate Change Literacy variable (X) and a Likert scale questionnaire for the Environmental Care Attitude variable (Y). The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that there is a significant and strong positive relationship between Climate Change Literacy and students' Environmental Care Attitude. The Climate Change Literacy variable also provides a substantial and meaningful contribution to students' Environmental Care Attitude. The higher the students' climate change literacy, the more positive the resulting environmental care attitude. Research shows that the sustainable improvement of students' environmental attitude is highly dependent on the fulfillment of adequate climate change literacy.
