Abstract
Kata kunci: mental well-being, sikap mengenai pernikahan, emerging adult *** This study aimed to examine the effect of mental well-being on attitudes toward marriage among emerging adults in Greater Jakarta. The research employed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design. The participants consisted of 345 unmarried emerging adults aged 18–29 years residing in Greater Jakarta. The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) and the General Attitudes toward Marriage Scale (GAMS) were used to measure mental well-being and attitudes toward marriage, respectively. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that mental well-being had a positive and significant effect on attitudes toward marriage among emerging adults in Greater Jakarta (B = 0.458, p < .001). Mental well-being accounted for 15% of the variance in attitudes toward marriage. These findings indicate that higher levels of mental well-being are associated with more positive attitudes toward marriage. Therefore, mental well-being is one of the factors that contributes to the development of attitudes toward marriage among emerging adults in Greater Jakarta. Keywords: mental well-being, attitudes toward marriage, emerging adulthood
