Abstract

***** This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Islamic Green School (IGS) Program in shaping students' environmental awareness character at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 55 Jatimakmur Bekasi, covering its planning, implementation, impact, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. This descriptive qualitative research collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation studies, with subjects selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The results show that the program planning integrates ecological urgency and Islamic values. The implementation operates through a combination of school community role-modeling, structural approaches, student involvement, and the integration of environmental values in learning. The IGS program has a holistic impact on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, although the achievements are not yet evenly distributed across all students. Institutional synergy and educators' exemplary behavior act as the main supporting factors, while students' sociological and psychological aspects serve as the inhibiting factors. This study concludes that the implementation of the IGS Program is effective in shaping the character of environmental awareness through a combination of the foundation's policy structures, role-modeling, and the internalization of Islamic values. However, the equitable distribution of its impact and sustainability need to be strengthened through formalized planning and program evaluation.
