Abstract

ABSTRACT Tamara Geraldine Sudyat. 2020. Modification of Dayak Ornaments with Textile Printing Technique on Fashion Doll. Art Cretion Thesis. Fine Art Education ed Program, Faculty of Languages and Art, State University of Jakarta. The purposes of this research are to visualize and implement Dayak tribe cultural values trough the fusion of the Dayak ornaments with the trend for 2020 in fashion doll products. Furthermore, they are aimed to increase the value of cultural appreciation through appropriate media for adolescent girls at the age of 12-18 and enhance the educational and cultural appreciation media for adolescent girls. Based on the purposes above, the concept of this research is a modified of the Dayak ornaments are applied to the fashion doll media. The modified decorations are printed using digital printing techniques. The Dayak tribe is chosen in order to present multicultural values along with the value of intercultural appreciation possessed by the various Dayak tribe. Refers to Erickson Theory (Identity VS Role Confusion), the fashion doll will be applied for adolescent girls of junior high school and senior high school at the age of twelve to eighteen. It has support functions which are to assist them in finding their roles as cultural appreciators or cultural participants and build good relationships with multicultural societies. To conduct the study, the Researcher used LED Practice research with qualitative research methods. In the creation of works of art, research is carried out in several stages. The first stage is research at the initial stage to obtain results and concept exploration, then the results of the research are implemented into a work of art ,in condition the research becomes the basis for practice. All creation of the artwork is overall more focusing on the exploration of the modification of the Dayak ornaments through shapes, textures, colors in digital, along with Dayak traditional costumes that have been adapted with 2020 fashion trends. The final works are eight variant fashion products that are applied to the fashion doll media. Keywords: Dayak ornaments, Digital printing technique, Fashion doll. Prodi Pendidikan Seni Rupa, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan serta mengimplementasikan nilai-nilai budaya suku Dayak melalui modifikasi ragam hias yang dipadukan dengan tren 2020 melalui produk fashion doll. Fungsi produk ini adalah untuk meningkatkan nilai edukasi dan apresiasi budaya melalui media yang sesuai untuk remaja perempuan usia 12-18 tahun. Dari tujuan uraian di atas, konsep dari penelitian ini adalah ragam hias Dayak yang sudah dimodifikasi dan diaplikasikan pada media boneka fesyen. Ragam hias yang telah dimodifikasi diprinting menggunakan digital printing technique. Suku Dayak dipilih untuk mempresentasikan nilai multicultural value dan nilai apresiasi antarbudaya yang dimiliki beragam rumpun Dayak. Boneka fesyen ini akan diaplikasikan pada remaja perempuan kelas 1 SMP-3 SMA/ usia 12-18 tahun yang didasarkan pada Erickson Theory (Identity VS Role Confusion). Boneka ini memiliki fungsi pendukung, yaitu untuk membantu remaja perempuan menemukan peran sebagai apresiator dan partisipator budaya serta membantu remaja menjalin relasi yang baik dalam masyarakat yang multikultural. Jenis riset yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Riset LED Practice dengan metode penelitian kualitatif. Dalam penciptaan karya seni rupa dilakukan berupa penelitian dengan beberapa tahapan. Tahapan pertama yaitu penelitian tahap awal untuk mendapatkan hasil dan eksplorasi konsep, kemudian hasil penelitian tersebut diimplementasikan ke dalam sebuah karya seni rupa, dalam artian penelitian menjadi dasar dalam praktik. Secara keseluruhan, penciptaan karya ini menitikberatkan pada eksplorasi dari modifikasi ragam hias Dayak melalui bentuk, tekstur, dan warna yang dibuat secara digital serta baju adat Dayak yang diadaptasi dengan tren fesyen 2020. Hasil karya jadi yang ditampilkan pada penelitian ini berupa delapan produk fesyen variatif yang diaplikasikan pada media fashion doll. Kata Kunci: Ragam Hias Dayak, Digital printing technique, Fashion doll.
