Abstract

Penelitian ini secara garis besar memiliki dua tujuan utama. Pertama, untuk mengetahui cara dan upaya-upaya wanita pemandu karaoke menghadapi stigma. Kedua untuk mengetahui pandangan teori Stigma yang diterima karena memilih untuk berprofesi sebagai Ladies Companion Mengingat saat ini banyak sekali fenomena Stigma dari masyarakat karena memilih profesi pekerjaan sebagai Ladies Companion. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang wanita yang berprofesi sebagai Ladies Companion. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi langsung sejak Januari 2017 – April 2020. Penelitian Stigma sebagai Ladies Companion ini penulis menggunakan teori Stigma dan konsep perilaku menyimpang, konsep rasionalitas dan konsep Ladies Companion. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan perilaku menyimpang wanita yang berprofesi Ladies Companion melalui motif ekonomi. Analisis menggunakan teori Stigma dengan premis yang sesuai dengan penelitian ini yaitu didalam prosesnya ada beberapa premis yang harus ditekankan seperti self dan identity, adanya motivasi dan dorongan yang khas, dan adanya ekspresi dan kebutuhan umum, serta ada konsekuensi mendapat stigma buruk dari masyarakat dalam profesi menjadi Ladies Companion . Hal ini juga diperkuat oleh premis didalam teori Stigma dalam menghadapi stigma yang melekat yaitu dengan Passing dan Covering. Passing yaitu mencoba menerima stigma tersebut merupakan bagian dari dalam dirinya, serta Covering yaitu berpindah pada kelompok lain yang tidak atau belum mengetahui stigma yang melekat. Overall this research have two main purposes. First, to know way and effort karaoke guide women to facing off the stigma. Second, to know the Stigma Theory view that they accept because choose to work as Ladies Companion, because right know there is so much stigma phenomenon from other people because they (Karaoke Guide Women) choose to work as Ladies Companion. This research using qualitatif approach with case study method. Informan in this research are 3 women who work as Ladies Companion. Data collecting technique using deep interview technique and field or direct observation since 2017 January – 2020, April. This stigma of Ladies Companion research, the writer using Stigma theory, Deviant Behaviour concept, Rasionality concept and Ladies Companion concept. Result of this research show deviant behaviour of women work as Ladies Companion through economy motives. Analysis using Stigma theory with proper premise with this research, in the process the are some premise that should be focused on like Self and Identity, motives and specifies impetus, expression and typical needs, and there is consequences getting bad stigma from people as Ladies Companion. These things are strengthened by premise in the stigma theory when facing off stigma that people already given which are Passing and Covering. Passing is to try to accept that stigma is part of her self, anf the Covering is move to another group which didn’t know yet the given stigma that she had
