Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaknai banalitas kejahatan pada tokoh-tokoh dalam novel 86 karya Okky Madasari berdasarkan pendekatan kajian budaya. Novel 86 merupakan karya sastra yang menceritakan keberadaan tindak pidana korupsi sebagai suatu kewajaran oleh hampir seluruh tokohnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan sejak bulan November 2019 hingga Agustus 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan teori struktural novel menurut Burhan Nurgiyantoro yang meliputi unsur-unsur struktural berupa tokoh, alur, dan latar. Kemudian, peneliti menggunakan konsep banalitas kejahatan yang dikemukakan oleh Hannah Arendt untuk menganalisis tiga aspek banalitas kejahatan berupa kewajaran, ketidakberpikiran, dan krisis imajinasi. Adapun bentuk kejahatan dalam novel berupa korupsi dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam 7 (tujuh) jenis tindak pidana korupsi berdasarkan Undang-Undang 31 Tahun 1999 junto UU 20 tahun 2001. Terdapat temuan analisis banalitas kejahatan yang meliputi aspek ketidakberpikiran, kewajaran dan krisis imajinasi. Analisis tersebut berkaitan dengan jenis tindak pidana korupsi yang terdapat dalam novel 86, berupa suap menyuap, pemerasan, gratifikasi, dan kerugian keuangan negara. Jenis tindak pidana korupsi seperti perbuatan curang, penggelapan dalam jabatan, dan benturan kepentingan dalam pengadaan tidak ditemukan. Hasil analisis selanjutnya dihubungkan dengan keberadaan tindak pidana korupsi yang membudaya dalam lembaga peradilan di Indonesia, serta bentuk kepatuhan seorang pegawai negara kepada atasannya sebagai aspek utama terjadinya banalitas kejahatan. The purpose of this research aims to find out thebanality of evil onthe characters based onnovel titled 86, written byOkky Madasari through the cultural study aspect. 86is aliterature work whichtells the corruption crimes consented asa banal thing by almost its every character. This research was conducted from November 2019 to August 2020.The research was done withqualitative descriptivemethod.Researcher using structural novel theory byBurhan Nurgiyantoroincluding the characters, alur, and setting unsure. The researcheralso usingthe banality of evil conceptbyHannah Arendt to analyze the three aspects, includingbanality, thoughtlessness, and lack of imagination. The form of evil in this novel known as corruptionwhichcan be classified into 7 (seven) types of crimeacts of corruption based on Rule No.31 of 1999 juncto Rule No.20 of 2001. The result of banality of evil analysis consists as banality, thoughtlessness, and lackof imagination aspectThe analysis relates to the types of corruption in 86, includingbribery, extortion, gratification, and state financial loss.Types of corruption, such as fraudulent acts,functionembezzlement, and conflicts of interestprocurementwere not found. The results of the subsequent analysis are related to the discoveryof a corruptioncrime act as anevolved culture in Indonesian judiciary, and obedience of a goverment officialto the leader as the main aspect of criminal banality.
