Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengumpulkan pleonasme pada surat resmi di The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel and Spa; (2) mengelompokkan pleonasme pada surat resmi di The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel & Spa; dan (3) menganalisis pleonasme pada surat resmi di The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel and Spa. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah Bagaimana pleonasme pada surat resmi di The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel & Spa. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah surat-surat resmi di hotel The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel and Spa. Sumber data penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu peneliti menentukan pengambilan sampel dengan cara menetapkan ciri-ciri khusus yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumen/arsip. Metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode agih dengan teknik lesap. Hasil penelitian ini berupa wujud pleonasme pada surat resmi di hotel The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel and Spa yaitu 6 bentuk pleonasme dengan total pleonasme berjumlah 54 buah. Enam bentuk pleonasme antara lain, (1) dua kata sinonim berjumlah 18 buah seperti kegiatan acara, gaji/upah, dan lemari pendingin (kulkas); (2) kata depan berlebihan berjumlah 6 buah seperti demikian surat pemberitahuan dari kami; (3) kata daripada yang tak perlu berjumlah 2 buah seperti daripada siswa bapak/ibu; (4) kata saling dengan bentuk ulang berjumlah 1 buah yaitu saling jalin-menjalin; (5) bentuk jamak dinyatakan ulang berjumlah 12 buah seperti bapak/ibu/para pimpinan departemen, dan seluruh karyawan/karyawati; dan (6) mengulang kata berjumlah 10 buah seperti jenis kendaraan dengan jenis kendaraan pribadi, setiap bulannya dengan rutin setiap bulan; dan (7) bentuk lain berjumlah 5 buah seperti peran serta. Kemudian, untuk fungsinya ditemukan yaitu: (1) penegasan berjumlah 3 buah; (2) gaya bahasa berjumlah 0 buah. Kemudian pleonasme yang tidak berfungsi penegasan, maupun gaya bahasa yaitu, (1) kemubaziran kata berjumlah 51 buah. Bentuk pleonasme pada surat resmi di The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel and Spa didominasi oleh bentuk dua kata sinonim yaitu sebanyak 18 buah. Sementara itu, bentuk pleonasme yang paling minim ditemukan adalah bentuk kata saling dengan bentuk ulang sebanyak 1 buah. Saran yang dapat diajukan adalah pada penelitian selanjutnya, khususnya pada bidang linguistik agar menambahkan kajian dari sudut pandang semantik logika, retorika, atau sudut pandang lainnya yang melengkapi kajian tentang surat resmi. Tentu saja pemanfaatan hasil penelitian ini perlu disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan lembaga, mengingat bahwa surat resmi memiliki norma yang berbeda dari tiap lembaga. This study aims to (1) gather pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel & Spa; (2) classifying pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel & Spa; and (3) analyzing pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta Sp Jakarta Hotel & Spa. The formulation of the problem of this research is How is pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel & Spa. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The object of this research is official papers at The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel & Spa. The source of the data for this study was taken by using purposive sampling technique, in which the researcher determines the sampling by determining specific characteristics that are in accordance with the research objectives. Data collection in this study uses document / archive techniques. The method of data analysis in this study uses the method of sharing with the fading technique. The results of this study in the form of pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel & Spa are 6 forms of pleonasm with a total of 54 pleonasms. Six forms of pleonasm include (1) two synonym words totaling 18 such as program event, salary/wages, and icebox (refrigerator); (2) excessive prepositions amounting to 6 pieces as thus a notice from us; (3) words rather than unnecessary are 2 pieces like rather than Mr./Mrs. student; (4) interlocking words with a reshape, with a total of 1 piece, intertwining with each other; (5) the plural form is restated as many as 12 pieces such as Mr./Mrs./department leadres, and all employees/employees; and (6) repeat words 10 pieces, such as the type of vehicle with the type of private vehicle, every month regularly every month; and (7) other forms of 5 pieces such as role along. Then, for the function found, namely, (1) affirmation of 3 pieces; and (2) the style of language is 0. Then, the pleonasm that has no function of affirmation, or language style, namely, (1) the waste of words totaling 51 pieces. The form of pleonasm in an official letter at The Jayakarta SP Jakarta Hotel & Spa is dominated by the form of two synonym words, 18 of them. Meanwhile, the minimal form of pleonasm was found in the form of interlocking words with a re-shape, with a total 1 piece. Suggestions that can be submitted are on further research, especially in the field of linguistics by adding studies from the perspective of semantic logic, rhetoric, or other points of view that complement the study of official letters. Of course the use of the results of this study need to be adjusted to the needs of the institution, given that official letters have different norms from each institution.
