Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui pandangan masyarakat Banyumas mengenai Kesenian Lengger Lanang, (2) Mengetahui citra penari Lengger Lanang di front stage dan back Stage menjadi negatif di mata masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan, bahwa penari lengger lanang (1) seorang penari cross gender yang membawakan atau menarikan tarian lawan jenisnya, seperti penari laki-laki yang membawakan tarian perempuan dengan segala atribut perempuannya hanya untuk sebuah pekerjaan atau sebaliknya, (2) adanya pandangan negatif terhadap penari lengger lanang sehingga memunculkan adanya penari lengger perempuan sebab penari perempuan lebih disukai oleh penonton serta tidak menyalahi kodrat yang diberikan oleh Tuhan, (3) keberadaan penari lengger lanang memberikan warna dalam perkembangan dunia seni tari. Penari lengger lanang selalu membedakan dunia panggung dan dunia luar panggung, ketika di panggung penari lengger lanang akan memerankan seorang penari perempuan dengan segala atribut perempuannya, misalnya memakai sanggul, kebaya, dan make up tetapi di luar panggung penari cross gender adalah laki-laki. This study aims to: (1) Know the views of the Banyumas community regarding the Lengger Lanang Art, (2) Know that the image of Lengger Lanang dancers on the front stage and back stage becomes negative in the eyes of the community. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and literature study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the lengger lanang dancer (1) is a cross gender dancer who performs or dances a dance of the opposite sex, such as a male dancer who performs a female dance with all female attributes only for a job or vice versa, (2) there is a view negative towards lengger lanang dancers so that it gives rise to female lengger dancers because female dancers are preferred by the audience and do not violate the nature given by God, (3) the existence of lengger lanang dancers gives color in the development of the world of dance. The lengger lanang dancer always distinguishes between the world of the stage and the world outside the stage, when on stage the lengger lanang dancer will play a female dancer with all her female attributes, for example wearing a bun, kebaya, and make-up but outside the stage the cross gender dancer is male.
