Abstract

Citra perempuan dalam karya sastra dapat menggambarkan kehidupan atau keadaan perempuan dalam berumah tangga maupun bermasyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memaparkan dan mendeskripsikan citra perempuan dalam novel Biarkan Kereta itu Lewat, Arini! karya Mira W. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif analisis teks. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan pendekatan struktural dengan bantuan pengklasifikasian ciri citra untuk mengetahui citra perempuan dalam novel berdasarkan tinjauan feminisme. Teori citra perempuan yang digunakan adalah menurut A. Wahab Ali. Klasifikasi citra perempuan terbagi menjadi tiga bagian, yaitu citra perempuan tradisi, modern, dan transisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketujuh tokoh perempuan dalam novel, (1) empat di antaranya mencirikan citra perempuan tradisi dengan ciri terbanyak, yaitu masih dominan terikat dengan adat, (2) dua tokoh lainnya mencirikan citra perempuan modern dengan ciri terbanyak yang melekat pada kedua tokoh adalah bebas daripada ikatan adat dan bersifat individualis, dan (3) satu tokoh utama memiliki citra perempuan transisi yang pada dirinya menunjukkan citra modern, namun di sisi lain masih terikat dengan citra tradisi, (4) citra perempuan tradisi merupakan bagian dari kontrafeminis yang tidak mendukung atau memerjuangkan, dan menentang ide feminis, (5) citra perempuan modern merupakan bentuk profeminis yang memerjuangkan dan mendukung perempuan dalam mewujudkan ide feminisme. Kata kunci: citra perempuan, feminisme, Mira W. The image of woman in literary works can describe the life or situation of women in a household or society. The purpose of this research is to describe the image of a woman in the novel Biarkan Kereta itu Lewat, Arini! by Mira W. This research uses descriptive qualitative method of text analysis. The analysis was carried out based on a structural approach with the help of image feature classification to determine the image of women in the novel based on feminist views. The image of woman theory used is according to A. Wahab Ali. The classification of women's images is divided into three parts, namely traditional, modern, and transitional women's images. The results showed that of the seven female characters in the novel, (1) four of them characterized the image of traditional women with the most characteristics, namely still predominantly tied to custom, (2) the other two characters characterized the image of modern women with the most characteristics attached to the two characters is free from customary ties and is individualist in nature, and (3) one main character has an image of a transitional woman which in itself shows a modern image, but on the other hand is still bound by a traditional image, (4) the image of traditional women is part of counter-feminist who does not support or fighting for, and opposing feminist ideas, (5) the image of modern women is a form of pro-feminism that fights and supports women in realizing the idea of ​​feminism.
