Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali kesulitan yang dihadapi mahasiswa Bahasa Inggris saat mengikuti pembelajaran online. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif. Peneliti memperoleh data dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada mahasiswa studi bahasa Inggris. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa siswa menghadapi kesulitan baik dalam kesulitan pedagogis maupun kesulitan teknis. Salah satu kesulitan pedagogis saat melakukan pembelajaran daring adalah tugas yang dikerjakan mahasiswa tidak optimal yang disebabkan oleh banyaknya jumlah tugas yang diberikan sedangkan waktu yang disediakan terlalu sedikit. Sedangkan kesulitan teknis yang paling banyak ditemui oleh mahasiswa adalah lambatnya kecepatan koneksi internet yang mereka miliki yanng disebabkan oleh cuaca yang buruk ataupun penyedia layanan internet yag kurang baik. This study aimed to explore the challenges faced by students of English Language when attending an online learning. this study used descriptive-qualitative method. The researcher gained the data by distributing questionnaire to students of English Study. The findings revealed that the students are facing the challenges in both of pedagogical challenges and technical challenges. One of the challenges in pedagogical challenges is the results of students’ work are not optimal due to the large amount of assignments and lack of time provided. While in technical categories, one of the challenges is the internet speed which mostly slow due to bad weather or bad provider.
