Abstract

In dealing with the challenges in the 21st century, learners are required to equip themselves with higher order thinking skills. To train higher order thinking skills, many ways can be done, one of which is using e-learning applications. E-learning plays an effective role in accommodating learners to think critically. This study is a content analysis that attempts to analyze the incorporation of higher order thinking skills based on Bloom’s revised taxonomy in English multiple-choice questions for tenth graders at Ruangguru Application. Ten chapters of English subject for tenth graders including 120 randomly selected questions in the English exercises at the application were chosen as a data source of this study. The findings showed that the questions are incorporated with higher order thinking skills with a percentage of 50,8% of LOTS and 49,2% of HOTS, which means that the skills are not evenly distributed in every chapter.
