Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify and understand comprehensively the behavior disorder to characters in The Hunger Games novel by Suzanne Collins. It is qualitative research with psychoanalysis method carried out in February-July 2014. The data were collected by reading the novel. The analysis and interpretation found novel structure like theme, plot, background, and characters are totally whole, there are four kinds of aggressively. Physic aggression was (66.6%), verbal aggression was (20%), direct aggression was (6.7%), and indirect aggression was (6.7%). The dominant were physic aggression. After that there are 8 causes of aggressions. Frustration was (4.2%), stress was (16.8%), deindividuation was (16.8%), power and loyalty was (12.5%), weapon effect was (33.3%), provocation was (8.3%) alcohol and drug was (4.1%), temperature was (4.1%).The dominant were weapon effect. Next, there are 2 impacts of aggression. Afraid was (12.5%) and run off was (87.5%). The dominant were run off. After that, there are 2 handlings of aggression. Stretching was (50%) and positive thinking was (50%). The dominant handling of aggression were both of them. The last, there are 5 preventions of aggression. Keep calm, confident, don’t care, and restrained were (25%), speak with normal tone was (25%), put away the weapon was (0%), don’t approach attacker was (25%), and move the attention of attacker was (25%). The dominant were all of those except put away the weapon. There were found that positive values in the novel may generate our view on world, especially hard working, not easy to surrender, and love for family and friends. ************ Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengenali dan mengerti mengenai gangguan perilaku terhadap tokoh dalam novel The Hunger Games karya Suzanne Collins. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode psikoanalisis yang dikerjakan mulai bulan Februari-Juli 2014. Data didapatkan dari membaca novel sampai memahami isi dari novel tersebut. Analisis dan interpretasi dari struktur novel menemukan tema, plot, latar belakang, dan tokoh yang secara keseluruhan saling berhubungan dan berkesinambungan, selain itu terdapat empat jenis agresivitas. Agresi fisik (66.6%), agresi verbal (20%), agresi langsung sebanyak 1 (6.7%), dan agresi tidak langsung (6.7%). Jenis agresivitas yang dominan adalah agresi fisik. Setelah itu, terdapat delapan penyebab agresivitas, frustasi (4.2%), stress (16.8%), deindividuasi (16.8%), kepatuhan dan kekuasaan (12.5%), efek senjata (33.3%), provokasi (8.3%), alkohol dan obat-obatan (4.1%), suhu udara (4.1%). Penyebab agresivitas yang dominan adalah efek senjata. Selanjutnya, terdapat dua dampak dari agresivitas, ketakutan (12.5%) dan melarikan diri (87.5%). Dampak agresivitas yang dominan adalah melarikan diri. Setelah itu terdapat dua penanganan agresivitas, mengendorkan otot (50%) dan berfikir positif (50%). Dampak agresivitas yang dominan adalah mengendorkan otot dan berfikir positif. Terakhir, terdapat 5 pencegahan agresivitas, bersikap tenang, percaya diri, acuh tak acuh, dan mampu mengendalikan diri (25%), berbicara dengan nada normal (25%), menjauhkan senjata (0%), jangan mendekati penyerang (25%), dan alihkan perhatian pelaku (25%). Pencegahan yang dominan adalah kelima pencegahan tersebut, kecuali menjauhkan senjata. Dalam novel The Hunger Games, terdapat nilai-nilai positif untuk membangkitkan pandangan pembaca terhadap kehidupan nyata, khususnya mengenai kerja keras, tidak mudah menyerah, dan mencintai keluarga dan teman.
