Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi macam-macam status identitas yang menandakan krisis identitas yang terjadi pada karakter Obayda dan bagaimana akibat dari krisis tersebut terhadap tingkat keenam perkembangan psikososial Obayda. Untuk menjawab objektif dari penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teori perkembangan psikososial dari Erik Erikson dan juga status identitas dari James Marcia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber utama yaitu novel One Half from the East karangan Nadia Hashimi. Analisa dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis kata, frasa, klausa, kalimat dan juga paragraf pada novel yang menggambarkan status identitas yang menunjukan krisis identitas pada Obayda dan bagaimana akibat dari hal tersebut. Peneliti menemukan krisis identitas Obayda terjadi pada tahap kelima dari teori perkembangan psikososial dan pada tahap itu peneliti juga menemukan bahwa Obayda mengalami keempat status identitas. Keberhasilan Obayda dalam menghadapi krisis identitasnya membuat ia memiliki hubungan yang erat dengan kedua orang tuanya, saudara-saudaranya, dan teman-temannya. ********** This research aims to identify the identity statuses which mark the identity crisis of Obayda's character and how is the impact of the crises toward the sixth stage of her psychosocial development. To answer the objectives, this research used Erik Erikson's psychosocial development theory and James Marcia's identity statuses theory. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The main source of this research is One Half from the East novel written by Nadia Hashimi. The words, phrases, clauses, sentences and paragraphs which portray identity statuses that reflect Obayda's identity crisis and the impact of the crisis to her are being analyzed. The researcher finds that the identity crisis of Obayda's character happened in the fifth stage of her psychosocial development. In this stage, the researcher also finds that Obayda experiences all four of the identity statuses; Diffusion, Foreclosure, Moratorium, and Achievement. The success in passing through the crisis made Obayda have intimate relationships with her parents, siblings, and friends.
