Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran pengurus jenazah atau nokanshi di Jepang dalam film Okuribito melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra dan menjawab pertanyaan mengapa nokanshi dipandang buruk oleh masyarakat Jepang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu: (1) Metode deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan data dalam film, (2) Metode korelatif untuk mencari hubungan nokanshi dengan stigma buruk yang ada, (3) Metode studi kasus untuk mencari penyebab timbulnya stigma buruk dan penyebab stigma tersebut bisa menghilang. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan gambaran pengurus jenazah yang disampaikan secara eksplisit maupun implisit dalam film Okuribito sebagai berikut: (1) merupakan pekerjaan yang jarang diminati, (2) membutuhkan keberanian saat menghadapi jenazah yang sudah membusuk, (3) memerlukan keahlian khusus dan kehati-hatian, (4) dianggap pekerjaan yang memalukan, dan (5) tegar dalam menghadapi penolakan dari masyarakat. Banyak adegan yang dapat diinterpretasikan menjadi data yang bisa diolah kembali dengan teori yang sudah dipelajari. Daigo mengorbankan hubungannya dengan istri dan kerabatnya karena ia memilih untuk berkarir sebagai nokanshi. Mereka yang memandang nokanshi sebagai pekerjaan yang hina pada akhirnya mulai memahami pentingnya jasa yang diberikan nokanshi. Maka kesimpulan yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini memang ada stigma buruk yang diberikan masyarakat kepada nokanshi dalam kehidupan nyata. Namun, dalam film Okuribito ditunjukkan bahwa stigma buruk tersebut perlahan menghilang. The purpose of this study was to find out the depiction of the mortician or nokanshi within Japan in the Okuribito movie through a study of sociological of literature and answering questions to why nokanshi is seen as bad by Japanese society. The methods that the researcher uses are: of the mortician announced explicitly or implicitly in the Okuribito movie is as follows: (1 (1) descriptive method to describe the data in the film, (2) correlative method to find the relationship between nokanshi and existing bad stigma, (3) case study method to find the causes of bad stigma and the causes of the stigma to disappear. The results of this study found that the depiction) it is a job that is rarely sought after, (2) requires great courage when dealing with rotting corpses, (3) requires special skills and care, (4) considered a disgracing job, and (5) tough when facing rejection from society. In addition, many scenes can be interpreted into data that can be reprocessed with the theory that has been studied. Daigo also sacrificed his relationship with his wife and relatives because he chose to have a career as a nokanshi. Those who view nokanshi as a despicable occupation eventually begin to understand the importance of the services provided by nokanshi. So the conclusion obtained from this study is that there is a bad stigma given by society to nokanshi in real life. However, in the film Okuribito it is shown that the bad stigma is slowly disappearing.
