Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji, menganalisis dan menemukan: Pengaruh Big Five Personality, Ability, Motivasi terhadap Kinerja Dosen Swasta di Kota Mataram secara langsung, dan Pengaruh Big Five Personality terhadap Kinerja melalui Motivasi sebagai mediasi serta Pengaruh Ability terhadap Kinerja melalui Motivasi sebagai mediasi. Lokasi Penelitian di kota Mataram NTB dengan data adalah dosen di seluruh Universitas Swasta yang berakreditasi B. Populasi dosen di 3 (tiga) Universitas sebesar 800 dosen. Dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin diperoleh sampel sebesar 288 dosen. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis korelasi dan regresi untuk mengetahu hubungan antar variabel. Sedangkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh langsung antar variabel dipergunakan Analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Untuk mengetahui pengaruh hubungan tidak langsung antar variabel dipakai sobel test. Hasil penelitian sekaligus menjawab hipotesis, yaitu: (1) Big Five Personality berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja, (2) Ability berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja, (3) Motivasi berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja, (4) Big Five Personality berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap Motivasi, (5) Ability berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan terhadap Motivasi, (6) Big Five Personality berpengaruh langsung positif dan signifikan tehadap Ability, (7) Big Five Personality berpengaruh tidak langsung positif dan signifikan tehadap Kinerja melalui Motivasi, (8) Ability berpengaruh tidak langsung positif dan tidak signifikan tehadap Kinerja melalui Motivasi. This study was conducted to examine, analyze and discover the direct effect of big five personality, ability, and motivation on performance, and the indirect effect of big five personality and ability on performance through motivation as a mediation at three private universities in Mataram City. The study on the performance of lecturers at these three private universities was conducted using a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The sample in this study was 288 people selected from a population of 800 lecturers. Data were obtained proportionally from three universities in Mataram City respectively; Al Azhar Islamic University, Mataram Muhammadiyah University, and Mandalika Education University. Empirical testing shows that (1) there is a direct positive effect of the big five personality on performance, (2) there is a direct positive effect of ability on performance, (3) there is a direct positive effect of motivation on performance, (4) there is a direct positive effect of big five personality on motivation (5) there is a positive direct effect of ability on motivation, (6) there is a direct positive effect of big five personality on ability, and (7) there is an indirect positive effect of big five personality on performance through motivation. (8) In contrast, the indirect positive effect of ability on performance through motivation is not proven.
