Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman terkait dengan eksistensi yang di representasikan pada tokoh ayah dalam novel Toutes ces choses qu’on ne s’est pas dites karya Marc Levy. Adapun sumber utama untuk mengetahui indikasi eksistensi berlandaskan kepada teori eksistensi menurut Jean-Paul Sartre yang memuat lima tipe eksistensi, yaitu, keberadaan (l'être-en-soi) yang tidak disadari keberadaannya sendiri, kesadaran (l'être-pour-soi) yang mampu mempertanyakan dirinya sendiri, kebebasan (la liberté) untuk bertindak tanpa ada yang membatasi, relasi (l'autrui) atau hubungan antara manusia dengan manusia lainnya dan kemuakkan (la nausée) pada ketiadaan perubahan dalam hidup seseorang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi dengan menggunakan pendekatan struktural karya sastra. Kegiatan analisis data pada sumber data diawali dengan pemaparan setiap unsur intrinsik novel yang terdiri dari alur, penokohan, dan latar. Kemudian penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data yang mengacu pada teknik Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña, yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat puluh tujuh (47) data temuan pada novel Toutes ces choses qu’on ne s’est pas dites karya Marc Levy yang mengindikasikan eksistensi ayah. Di antara data tersebut, terdapat lima belas (15) kutipan yang mencerminkan eksistensi tipe kesadaran, tiga belas (13) kutipan berupa eksistensi tipe kebebasan, sembilan (9) kutipan merupakan eksistensi tipe relasi, enam (6) di kutipan merupakan eksistensi tipe kemuakkan dan empat (4) kutipan merupakan tipe keberadaan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa novel Toutes ces choses qu’on ne s’est pas dites mengandung eksistensi ayah dengan Anthony Walsh sebagai tokoh utama memiliki eksistensi tipe kesadaran (l'être-pour-soi). The purpose of this research is to describe the existence represented by the father character in the novel Toutes ces choses qu'on ne s'est pas by Marc Levy. The main source for knowing indications of existence is based on the theory of existence according to Jean-Paul Sartre which contains five types of existence, such as, l’existence (l'être-en-soi) which is not aware of its own existence, consciousness (l'être-pour-soi) who is able to question himself, the freedom (la liberté) to act without any restrictions, the relationship (l'autrui) or the relationship between humans and other humans and disgust (la nausée) at the absence of change in one's life. The research method used in this research is content analysis using a literary structural approach. Data analysis activities on the data source begin with the presentation of each intrinsic element of the novel consisting of plot, characterizations, and setting. Then this research uses data analysis techniques that refer to the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña techniques, namely, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that there are forty-seven (47) data findings in the novel Toutes ces chooses qu'on ne s'est pas dites by Marc Levy which shows the existence of a father figure. Among these data, there are fifteen (15) citations that reflect the existence of the consciousness type, thirteen (13) citations are in the form of the existence of the freedom type, nine (9) citations are the existence of the relationship type, six (6) in the citation are the existence of disgust type and four (4) citations are existence types. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the novel Toutes ces choses qu'on ne s'est pas dites contains the existence of a father figure, with Anthony Walsh as the main character having the existence of a type of consciousness (l'être-pour-soi).
