Abstract
Karikatur merupakan sarana bagi para redaksi untuk menyampaikan pesan atau opini atas suatu kejadian secara subjektif. Makna yang terkandung dalam karikatur dilakukan secara tidak langsung, atau dalam arti lain, makna didapatkanmelalui simbol-simbol yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna yang terkandung dalam karikatur pandemi pada koran daring Stuttgarter Zeitung edisi Maret – Oktober 2020. Karikatur tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Peirce melalui tanda representamen, objek dan interpretan. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Kualitatif dengan data berjumlah 5 karikatur pandemi pada koran daring Stuttgarter Zeitung edisi Maret – Oktober 2020. Dari analisis yang dilakukan, lima karikatur pandemi secara umum menggambarkan situasi dan kondisi kehidupan sosial pada masa pandemi Covid- 19. Tiga diantaranya menggambarkan ketidakselarasan masyarakat Jerman dalam menjalankan peraturan demi menanggulani penyebaran dan peningkatan kasus Covid-19. Kemudian dua diantaranya menggambarkan krisis yang dihadapipada saat pandemi berlangsung. Thesis, German Language Education, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Jakarta State University. Caricature is a means for editors to convey messages or opinions on an incident subjectively. The meaning contained in the caricature is done indirectly, or in another sense, the meaning is obtained through the symbols used. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning contained in the pandemic caricature in the March – October 2020 edition of the online newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung. The caricatures were analyzed using Peirce's semiotic theory through representamen, objects and interpretants. This research is a qualitative research with data totaling 5 pandemic caricatures in the online newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung March – October 2020 edition. From the analysis carried out, the five pandemic caricatures generally describe the situation and conditions of social life during the Covid-19 pandemic. Three of them illustrate the incompatibility of German society in implementing regulations in order to deal with the spread and increase in Covid-19 cases. Then two of them describe the crisis faced during the pandemic.
