Abstract

Penelitian studi komparatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan aspirasi karir peserta didik sekolah menengah pertama pada etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 dan SMP Budi Mulia Jakarta yang beretnis Tionghoa sebanyak 39 peserta didik dan Jawa sebanyak 30 peserta didik. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh atau sensus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen aspirasi karir peserta didik sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) dan dianalisa dengan software SPSS 20.0. Instrumen penelitian berisi sejumlah pernyataan sebanyak 44 butir soal dan dianalisis berdasarkan 3 jenjang kategori yakni aspirasi karir tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Pengujian validitas butir menggunakan teknik Product Moment Pearson dan Uji reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan teknik Alpha Cronbach didapatkan r hitung sebesar 0,910 dan r tabel sebesar 0,339. Hasil uji Hipotesis menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan aspirasi karir peserta didik etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa atau hipotesis Ho diterima. Namun, pada beberapa analisis per indikator aspirasi karir peserta didik SMP tiga indikator unggul mewakili aspirasi karir peserta didik etnis Tionghoa dan satu indikator unggul mewakili aspirasi karir peserta didik etnis Jawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru BK dapat mempertimbangkan etnis sebagai bagian dari faktor aspirasi karir dan kecenderungan arah pilihan karir peserta didik. *********** This comparative study aims to gather data of Junior High School students in Javanese and Tionghoa ethnic group about their career aspiration.The samples of this study are the grade-8-students of senior high school 5 and Budi Mulia Jakarta who belong to the Javanese and Tionghoa ethnic group. Based on the "census" as a method, the data collection was carried out specifically by using an career aspiration instrument for senior high school students. After all the result was analysed through software SPSS 20.0. The using instrument contained 44 questions and the result analysis was divided into high, middle and low as well as category. The method used to test the validity of the grains involved the "product moment pearson" technique and "Alpha Cronbach" technique as the reability instrument. An r amount of 0,910 and r table of 0,339 were obtained as results. This study showed that the career aspiration of Tionghoa and Javanese ethnic group students belong in the middle category with a value of 134 for the both. Considered on several analysis indicator of all students , three superior indicator was specified to the Tionghoa ethnic group students and 1 (superior indicator) for the Javanese. Overall, the study showed that the Counselor could take an ethnic into consideration as a part of career aspiration factor of the students and a tendency on choosing their career.
