Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the process of implementation of the learning activities of practical life. The research was conducted on a group of kindergarten B2 State District Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra with a number of 14 children in March and April 2015. The method used in this research is an action research which refers to the model of a Classroom Action Research Kemmis and Mc. Taggart consist of four phase: planning, action, observation and reflection. This research consist of two cycles, each cycle consist of 8 times in actions. Data analysis using quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data analysis was done using descriptive statistics to data attainment of self-reliance of children in pre-cycle, the first cycle and second cycle. While the qualitative analysis carried out on the data of field notes and interview transcripts. The results showed an increase in the child's self-reliance after learning activities of practical life. Data attainment of self-reliance of children in pre-recorded cycle of 47.99%. The data is increased to 69.31% at the end of the first cycle, and further increased to 85.01% at the end of the second cycle.
