Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis bagaimana pengembangan objek wisata berdasarkan potensi wisata yang dimiliki Pantai Menganti. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data berupa observasi lapangan, dokumentasi, dan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada informan kunci yang terdiri dari Ketua Lembaga Masyarakat Desa Hutan Sengkuyung Makmur, Kepala Bidang Pemasaran Ekonomi Kreatif Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kebumen, Peneliti Utama Bidang Geologi Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional dan informan pendukung yang terdiri dari sepuluh pengunjung dan lima pelaku usaha yang terdapat di Pantai Menganti. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa objek wisata Pantai Menganti memiliki potensi pengembangan objek wisata, dengan adanya kelengkapan aspek destinasi wisata dan sumber daya manusia serta situs geologi yaitu batuan columnar joint dapat dimanfaatkan untuk sarana edukasi. Namun, pemanfaatan kekayaan alam geologi belum dimaksimalkan secara optimal dalam pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Menganti dalam hal ini konsep geowisata karena masih kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat akan kelestarian lingkungan. Dengan adanya bantuan akademisi diharapkan mampu mendorong konsep geowisata di Pantai Menganti menjadi Destinasi Unggulan Kabupaten Kebumen. This study aims to determine and analyze how the development of geotourism based on the geological potential of Menganti Beach. This study uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis. Data collection methods include observations, documentation, and interviews with key informants consisting of the Head of Forest Village Community Institution Sengkuyung Makmur, Head of Creative Economy Department of Tourism and Culture of Kebumen, Main Researcher in Geology of National Research and Innovation Agency and supporting informants consisting of ten visitors and five business actors who located on Menganti Beach. The results of this study indicate that Menganti Beach tourism object has the potential develop a tourist attraction, with the completeness of aspects of tourist destinations and human resources as well as geological sites, namely columnar joint rocks that can be used for educational facilities. However, the utitlization of geological natural resoursces has not been optimally maximized in the development of Menganti Beach tourism objects, in this case the concept of geoturism because there is still a lack of public awareness of environmental sustainability. With the help of academics, it is expected to be able the encourage the concept of geoturism in Menganti Beach to become a leading destination for Kebumen Regency.
