Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pewaktuan dan unsur gotik yang digunakan oleh penulis novel Penghisap Darah karangan Abdullah Harahap. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jakarta, sejak bulan Maret 2021 hingga Juni 2022. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori naratologi. Analisis tersebut kemudian dihubungkan dengan teori gotik untuk mengetahui peristiwa atau kejadian yang terjadi di dalam novel dapat dikelompokkan secara bersamaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa pada analisis pewaktuan dalam novel Penghisap Darah karangan Abdullah Harahap terdapat 46 urutan atau order, 110 kekerapan atau frekuensi, dan 166 tempo atau durasi. Dalam penelitian ini peristiwa yang terjadi secara analepsis, repetitif, perlambatan, dan pengadeganan memiliki fungsi dan dominan yang lebih besar. Sehingga peristiwa yang terjadi di dalam novel dapat dengan mudah dirasakan dan dibayangkan oleh para pembacanya. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan jika cerita yang terdapat di dalam novel Penghisap Darah memiliki nuansa yang menyeramkan. Sosok menyeramkan dan kejadian yang mengerikan banyak ditemukan di dalam novel tersebut. ********** This study aims to determine the timing and gothic elements used by the writer of the novel Blood Sucking by Abdullah Harahap. This research was conducted in Jakarta, from March 2021 to June 2022. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using narratology theory. The analysis is then connected with the gothic theory to find out events or events that occur in the novel can be grouped together. The results of this study indicate that in the timing analysis in the novel Blood Sucking by Abdullah Harahap there are 46 sequences or orders, 110 frequency or frequency, and 166 tempo or duration. In this study, events that occurred analepically, repetitively, slowing down, and filming had a greater function and dominance. So that the events that occur in the novel can be easily felt and imagined by the readers. Thus, it can be said that the story contained in the Bloodsucker novel has a sinister feel. Creepy figures and terrible events are often found in the novel.
