Abstract

Bencana alam merupakan salah satu fenomena alam yang dapat mengancam kehidupan manusia. Bencana alam dapat disebabkan oleh faktor alam atau faktor non alam maupun faktor manusia. Salah satu bencana alam yang sering terjadi di Negara Indonesia, yaitu tanah longsor. Bencana tersebut kerap kali menelan korban, baik berupa korban jiwa, kerusakan lingkungan, kerugian material dan infrastruktur dan dampak psikologis. Bencana alam tidak dapat dihindari, namun dapat mengurangi resiko untuk menimalisir korban jiwa, apabila masyarakat mempunyai informasi yang cukup mengenai perlindungan terhadap bencana alam. Informasi tentang perlindungan bencana juga penting untuk diketahui oleh anak-anak. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan nya media untuk menyampaikan informasi perlindungan diri yang menarik. Salah satu media yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media penyampaian informasi tersebut yaitu buku komik edukasi. Komik adalah media yang digunakan untuk mengekspresikan ide dengan gambar yang dikombinasikan dengan teks atau informasi visual lain nya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan komik sebagai media pembelajaran dan penyampaian informasi yang dikemas untuk menarik perhatian dan minat baca anak dan menjadikan komik edukasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Jenis riset penelitian dan penciptaan ini menggunakan Practice Based Research, dimana dalam penelitian dan penciptaan karya komik ini sebelunya dilakukan penelitian terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan hasil dari eksplorasi konsep yang kemudian hasil penelitian tersebut diimplementasikan kedalam sebuah karya. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu komik edukasi Bencana Alam berjudul “ Siaga Dini” ********** Natural disasters are one of the natural phenomena that can threaten human life. Natural disasters can be caused by natural factors or non-natural factors as well as human factors. One of the natural disasters that often occur in Indonesia, that is a landslides. These disasters often take the form of casualties, environmental damage, material and infrastructure losses and psychological impacts. Natural disasters cannot be avoided, but can reduce the risk to minimize casualties, if the public has sufficient information about protection against natural disasters. Information about disaster protection is also important for children to know. Therefore, the media is needed to convey interesting self-protection information. One of the media that can be used as a medium for delivering this information is educational comic books. Comics are media used to express ideas with images combined with text or other visual information. This study aims to create comics as a medium of learning and convey information that is packaged to attract children's attention and interest in reading and make educational comics. This research method uses qualitative methods. This type of research and creation research uses Practice Based Research, where in the research and creation of comic works, research was previously carried out to obtain results from concept exploration which then the results of the research were implemented into a work. The results obtained are Natural Disaster educational comics entitled "Siaga Dini"
