Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan teknik-teknik permainan gitar klasik yang terdapat pada Praeludio BWV 996 karya Johann Sebastian Bach. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode konten analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Objek penelitian difokuskan pada Praeludio BWV 996 karya Johann Sebastian Bach transkrip Frank Koonce (alternative version). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada November 2021 – Juni 2022, bertempat di Jakarta. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, studi pustaka, studi dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Keabsahan data menggunakan Triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Praeludio BWV 996 karya Johann Sebastian Bach berbentuk 2 bagian besar, yaitu passagio dan presto. Teknik yang terdapat pada karya ini antara lain; apoyando, tirando, slur, barre, arpeggio, dan petikan akor. Bagian passagio banyak menggunakan teknik tirando, apoyando, barre, slur, dan petikan akor, sedangkan bagian presto menggunakan teknik tirando, barre, petikan akor, dan slur. Namun bagian presto ini memerlukan teknik pendukung economic movement. Aspek-aspek pendukung yang dibutuhkan untuk memainkan karya ini yaitu speed, power, economic movement, dan tone colour. Speed dibutuhkan untuk memainkan pasase-pasase yang terdiri dari serangkaian not 1/8 dan 1/16 ketuk serta teknik apoyando, tirando, dan slur. Power terdapat pada akor-akor kadens tersebut untuk membuat bunyi tiap not seimbang dan tidak ada yang menonjol sendiri. Economic movement ibutuhkan agar setiap perpindahan posisi berjalan lancar, menghemat stamina, dan mencegah frase terputus. Tone colour diperlukan untuk menjaga kualitas suara yang dihasilkan semaksimal mungkin. *** The purpose of this research is to describe the classical guitar techniques in Johann Sebastian Bach's Praeludio BWV 996. This research uses content analysis method with descriptive qualitative approach. The object of this research is focused on Praeludio BWV 996 by Johann Sebastian Bach transcript of Frank Koonce (alternative version). The research was conducted in November 2021 – June 2022, located in Jakarta. Data were obtained through observation, literature study, documentation study, and interviews. The validity of the data using Triangulation. The results showed that Johann Sebastian Bach's Praeludio BWV 996 was in the form of two large parts, namely passagio and presto. The techniques in this work include; apoyando, tirando, slur, barre, arpeggio, and chord plucking. The passagio section uses tirando, apoyando, barre, chord plucking, and slur techniques, while the presto section uses tirando, barre, chord plucking, and slur techniques. However, this presto section requires techniques to support economic movement. The supporting aspects needed to play this work are speed, power, economic movement, and tone color. Speed is needed to play passages consisting of a series of 1/8 and 1/16 notes as well as apoyando, tirando, and slur techniques. Power is present in cadences to make the sound of each note balanced and nothing stands out on its own. Economic movement is needed so that every position change runs smoothly, saves stamina, and prevents broken phrases. Tone color is needed to maintain the sound quality as maximum as possible.
