Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh academic passion terhadap online student engagement pada mahasiswa di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari 314 mahasiswa aktif Universitas Negeri Jakarta jenjang S1, D4, dan D3 yang sedang menjalani perkuliahan online. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah The Passion Scale untuk mengukur tipe harmonious passion dan obsessive passion dari variabel academic passion dan The Engagement Scale untuk mengukur dimensi behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, dan cognitive engagement dari variabel online student engagement. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik regresi linear berganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa harmonious passion dan obsessive passion secara bersama-sama memengaruhi ketiga dimensi dari variabel online student engagement. Harmonious passion dan obsessive passion secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh terhadap behavioral engagement sebesar 8,1%. Harmonious passion dan obsessive passion secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh terhadap emotional engagement sebesar 40,2%. Harmonious passion dan obsessive passion secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh terhadap cognitive engagement sebesar 8,1%. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of academic passion on online student engagement in undergraduate students at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This research is quantitative research with ex post facto method. The research data were collected from 314 from Universitas Negeri Jakarta D3, D4, and S1 undergraduate students who are currently undergoing online study. The instruments used were The Passion Scale to measure academic passion and The Engagement Scale to measure online student engagement. Multiple linear regression technique was used to analyze research data. The results of data analysis show that harmonious passion and obsessive passion together affect the three dimensions of the online student engagement variable. Harmonious Passion and obsessive passion together have an influence on behavioral engagement by 8.1%. Harmonious Passion and obsessive passion together have an influence on emotional engagement by 40.2%. Harmonious Passion and obsessive passion together have an effect on cognitive engagement of 8.1%.
