Abstract

The aimed of this study is to explain the meaning and reactions of der Spiegel's Facebook account comments that posted on December 3, 2020. The comments regarded to the extensions of lockdown in Germany during the pandemic era of Covid-19. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with a total of 16 Facebook’s comments which its data is in the form of sentences on the comments. The research analyzed based on Klaus Fischer's denotation and connotation theories that interpreted to classify positive, negative, and neutral opinions based on Kriyantono's theory and linked into the characteristics of Germans. The result showed many Germans disagreed with the policy from Prime Minister, Angela Merkel, about the lockdown extensions. There were many connotations found in the comments shown by words or sentences that ought to be understood in the context of the previous sentences and the topic uploaded by der Spiegel's Facebook account. It concluded it was necessary to understand the meaning in the comment sentences and also many German people disagreed with the new regulation because December coincided with Christmas and New Year’s celebration when German people spent time with family and relatives. ---------- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan makna dan reaksi yang terdapat dalam komentar pada unggahan akun Facebook der Spiegel tanggal 3 Desember 2020 tentang perpanjangan kuncitara (lockdown) di Jerman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan jumlah data sebanyak 16 komentar Facebook. Data penelitian ini berupa kalimat dalam komentar dan dianalisis berdasarkan teori denotasi dan konotasi Klaus Fischer, kemudian makna diinterpretasi untuk mengklasifikasikan opini positif, negatif, dan netral berdasarkan teori Kriyantono dan dikaitkan dengan karakteristik orang Jerman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak masyarakat Jerman yang tidak setuju dengan kebijakan perpanjangan kuncitara yang dilakukan oleh perdana menteri Jerman, Angela Merkel. Banyak ditemukan dalam komentar makna konotasi yang ditunjukkan dengan kata atau kalimat yang harus dipahami konteks dalam kalimat sebelumnya dan topik yang di unggah oleh akun Facebook der Spiegel tanggal 3 Desember 2020. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa melalui komentar pada unggahan akun Facebook der Spiegel tanggal 3 Desember 2020 terkait perpanjangan kuncitara di Jerman diperlukan pemahaman makna dalam membaca kalimat komentar dan juga banyak masyarakat Jerman yang tidak setuju terhadap kebijakan baru yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah Jerman karena pada bulan Desember bertepatan dengan perayaan Natal dan Tahun baru saat masyarakat Jerman menghabiskan waktu bersama keluarga dan kerabat.
