Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh karakteristik CEO dan Good Corporate Governance terhadap kinerja perusahaan yang diukur dengan ROA dan ROE, menguji apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil antara sebelum dan selama pandemi COVID-19 pada karakteristik CEO dan Good Corporate Governance terhadap kinerja perusahaan manufaktur, serta menguji apakah terdapat perbedaan kinerja perusahaan manufaktur sebelum dan selama COVID-19. Sampel dari penelitian ini yaitu perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2016-2021. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan regresi data panel. Hasil regresi ini menunjukkan bahwa CEO business education, CEO Tenure, dan ukuran komisaris tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Pada saat yang sama, ukuran direksi memiliki efek positif yang signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Jumlah komite audit berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Serta dalam penelitian ini tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil antara sebelum dan selama pandemi COVID-19 pada ukuran dewan direksi terhadap kinerja perusahaan, sebelum dan selama pandemi ukuran dewan direksi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Kata kunci: karakteristik CEO, good corporate governance, kinerja perusahaan *** The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of CEO characteristics and Good Corporate Governance on company performance, measured by ROA (Return on Assets) and ROE (Return on Equity). The study also aims to test whether there are differences in the results between before and during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the impact of CEO characteristics and Good Corporate Governance on the performance of manufacturing companies. Additionally, the research aims to examine whether there are differences in the performance of manufacturing companies before and during COVID-19. The research sample consists of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2016-2021. The method used in this study is panel data regression. The regression results indicate that CEO business education, CEO Tenure, and the size of the board of commissioners do not have a significant influence on company performance. However, the size of the board of directors has a significant positive effect on company performance. The number of audit committees has a negative and significant impact on company performance. Furthermore, the study found not differences in the results between before and during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the impact of the size of the board of directors on company performance. Before the pandemic and during the pandemic, it had a significant positive impact on company performance. Keywords: characteristics of CEO, good corporate governance, company performance
