Abstract

Intan Berliani, Pemaknaan dan Dampak Toxic positivity Pada Mahasiswa PIPS FIS UNJ Angkatan 2019. Skripsi : Program Studi Pendidikan IPS, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan dan dampak pada mahasiswa PIPS UNJ 2019 mengenai toxic positivity. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Melalui teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pemaknaan mahasiswa mengenai toxic positivity adalah suatu kondisi dimana mengandalkan hal positif untuk menutupi sebuah emosi negatif, sebagai bentuk untuk mengekspresikan sebuah rasa simpati dan empati kepada seseorang yang sedang terpuruk untuk selalu berpikir positif dan berusaha menyingkirkan emosi negative yang dirasakan. Hal ini bisa berdampak kepada kondisi emotional intelligency seseorang menjadi lebih tertutup dan hubungan sosial menjadi canggung dan renggang. Upaya yang bisa dilakukan adalah dengan belajar untuk mengendalikan pikiran dan emosi, selain itu juga bisa dilakukan dengan tidak membanding-bandingkan masalah. Kata Kunci: Toxic Postivity, Pemaknaan, Dampak Intan Berliani, Digestion and The effects of Toxic positivity on Students of PIPS FIS UNJ Force 2019. IPS Education Studies Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, 2023. This study aims to know the digestion and impact on PIPS UNJ 2019 students on toxic positivity. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Through data collection techniques with interviews, documentation, and library studies. Toxic positivity is a condition where reliance on positive things to cover up a negative emotion, as a form to express a sense of sympathy and empathy to someone who is pushed to always think positive and try to get rid of negative emotions felt. This can affect the condition of one’s emotional intelligence becoming more closed and social relationships becoming awkward and rough. The effort that can be made is by learning to control thoughts and emotions, besides it can also be done by not comparing problems. Keywords: toxic positivity, digestion, effects
