Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepercayaan dan anonimitas terhadap keterbukaan diri pengguna Twitter pada dewasa awal. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengujian analisis regresi berganda. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan memperoleh 297 responden dengan kriteria pengguna Twitter yang berusia 18-40 tahun, berdomisili di Indonesia, dan minimal satu kali membuat tweet dalam satu bulan terakhir. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Revised Self-disclosure Scale, skala kepercayaan, dan skala anonimitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kepercayaan dan anonimitas terhadap keterbukaan diri pengguna Twitter pada dewasa awal. Implikasi dalam penelitian ini adalah individu yang membuka diri di Twitter akan rentan terhadap resiko. Diperlukan adanya batasan untuk individu dalam mengungkapkan diri di Twitter sehingga individu dapat mengetahui mana yang baik untuk diungkapkan di Twitter dan mana yang tidak. Kata kunci: kepercayaan, anonimitas, keterbukaan diri, Twitter, dewasa awal This study aims to determine the effect of trust and anonymity on self-disclosure among early adulthood users of Twitter. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis testing. Sampling in this study used accidental sampling and obtained 297 respondents with the criteria of Twitter users aged 18 to 40 years, domiciled in Indonesia, and have made at least one tweet in the past month. The measuring instrument used in this study are the Revised Self-disclosure Scale to measure self-disclosure, trust scale, and anonymity scale. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant influence between trust and anonymity on self-disclosure Twitter users on early adulthood. The implication of this research is someone who self-disclosure on Twitter will be vulnerable to risk. It is necessary to establish boundaries for individuals in self-disclosing on Twitter, enabling them to discern what is appropriate to share on the platform and what is not.
