Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pemahaman dan analisis terhadap perjalanan bisnis White Horse Group, yang berhasil mempertahankan posisinya di tengah persaingan industri otobus pariwisata dan mengalami pertumbuhan yang signifikan hingga saat ini, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan seperti pandemi. White Horse Group berhasil bertahan di tengah krisis industri otobus pariwisata, dan eksistensinya tidak terlepas dari serangkaian langkah sukses yang diambil untuk mengubah arah bisnisnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi langkah-langkah sukses yang telah diambil oleh White Horse Group, dengan mengadopsi Teori Praktik Sosial Bourdieu yang diterapkan dalam konteks organizational field dan field as a whole. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai dari bulan Februari hingga Desember 2023 di pool sekaligus head office White Horse Group yang berlokasi di Rawa Bokor, Kecamatan Benda, Kota Tangerang, Banten. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari lima orang informan, yakni 1 penerus generasi ketiga sekaligus Direktur Utama White Horse Group, 1 Direktur Operasional, 1 Direktur Sales & Marketing, 1 Kepala Kru, serta 1 supir. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan trajektori bisnis White Horse Group melalui serangkaian gerak suksesif dalam arena persaingan industri otobus pariwisata. Perusahaan ini telah berhasil menciptakan posisi sosial yang unggul melalui praktik sosial yang terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan, yang mencerminkan pengelolaan yang efektif dan pendekatan berimbang terhadap pekerja kerah putih dan pekerja kerah biru. Dalam organizational field, kontestasi antarkaryawan muncul sebagai akibat dari dorongan perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kontribusi karyawan di semua tingkatan, menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kompetitif dan inovatif. Kemudian, White Horse Group juga menunjukkan respons yang adaptif dalam menghadapi kontestasi antarperusahaan dalam field as a whole, di mana mereka menggabungkan strategi persaingan yang cerdas dengan nilai-nilai sosial yang kuat untuk mempertahankan posisi unggul di industri otobus pariwisata. Dengan demikian, perusahaan ini berhasil mencapai trajektori bisnis yang mengesankan di tengah persaingan yang ketat dan terus bergerak maju untuk mencapai kesuksesan yang berkelanjutan. This study is focused on understanding and analyzing the business journey of White Horse Group, which has successfully maintained its position amidst the competitive landscape of the tourism bus industry and has experienced significant growth up to the present, particularly in overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic. White Horse Group managed to endure the crisis in the tourism bus industry, and its existence is intricately linked to a series of successful steps taken to reshape its business trajectory. Therefore, this study also aims to explore the successful strategies employed by White Horse Group, utilizing Bourdieu's Social Practice Theory applied within the organizational field and the broader industry field. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. This research was conducted from February to December 2023 at the pool and head office of the White Horse Group located in Rawa Bokor, Benda District, Tangerang City, Banten. The research subjects consisted of five informants, namely 1 third generation successor who was also the Main Director of the White Horse Group, 1 Director of Operations, 1 Director of Sales & Marketing, 1 Crew Chief, and 1 driver. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The results of this study indicate the business trajectory of the White Horse Group through a series of successive moves in the competitive arena of the tourism autobus industry. The company has succeeded in creating a superior social position through integrated and sustainable social practices, reflecting effective management and a balanced approach towards white-collar workers and blue-collar workers. In the organizational field, contestation among employees arises as a result of the company's drive to improve the quality and contribution of employees at all levels, creating a competitive and innovative work environment. Then, the White Horse Group also showed an adaptive response in facing competition between companies in the field as a whole, where they combined a smart competitive strategy with strong social values to maintain a superior position in the tourism bus industry. Thus, the company has achieved an impressive business trajectory in the midst of fierce competition and continues to move forward to achieve sustainable success.
